Also, are you stoked? Seems like two of the biggest/most anticipated releases in years.

My copy of Zelda shipped. First time I have bought a game on release date in several years. Not too interested in GTA 6, but I will probably get it in a year or two.

Neither franchise interests me.

But I wish that everyone playing either will have a good time with them.

For REAL. I haven't upgraded my PC in years, let alone thought about getting a console. I'm good with just getting a random $5-$20 indie game now and then and working on my old backlog.

I mean, what was this 300 game backlog for, if not to let me survive this economical gaming winter?

Neither. Nintendo and Rockstar are both scumbag companies. I will probably pirate GTA 6 in a couple years, whoever buys that game for the singleplayer is lost, it's just shipping GTA:O assets ahead of time. They showed, they don't care about singleplayer with GTA 5 and GTA (5) Online.

Neither. Already played OoT on the 3DS and I'd rather get started on my used copy of GTA V on the PS4.

I'll play GTA VI when used copies eventually climb down in price. /s

Neither, I don't have any modern consoles. Well unless you count Steam Deck.

I would buy GTA6 if it was on PC.

Just a heads up: Rockstar deliberately broke Linux support for GTA Online. In fact, the game worked seamlessly for years until they added BattlEye anti-cheat and chose not to enable Linux support (an option BattlEye literally provides with a simple toggle).

Neither. I never really cared for the 3d zeldas. Also, Nintendo and Rockstar are very anti-consumer. Rockstar has also been bad to their own employees and I've not seen any indication that they have turned over a new leaf.

  • source
  • [–] 16 points 2 days ago (6 children)

Nope. Over a decade of anti-consumer practices or churning out broken and unfinished cash grabs vaguely disguised as games have convinced me that pretty much every AAA dev studio and major publisher don't deserve my money. I've been more than happy lately sticking to indie titles and playing games from the late 2000s or older

    Exactly my take.
I'm vicariously happy for anyone from the generations after mine getting into Ocarina of Time for their first playthrough, but I'm personally more interested in getting the decomps to work and reliving my favorite Christmas present on my own terms

i thought GTA V had a solid single-player campaign without any cash grabs.

I don't mind a company soaking the rubes if it also has a good non-rapist-mentality mode.

Rockstar canceled the three single player dlcs to shove all that content into GTAO behind prices so inflated that you pretty much needed to pay real money for the vehicles

Neither. I'm not even a patient gamer or broke (I bought the new Fire Emblem in September and still playing it), I just never got into GTA and didn't love Ocarina of Time on 3DS enough to replay a seemingly barely upgraded version. You'd have to pay me to do it, honestly.

No. I have a PS5, but I'm not in a rush. I might get gta6 when the reviews are in of a good single player, but after gta5 turned out to be a tech demo with a story line I'm not buying anything on launch day. We'll see in January, maybe.

Neither, will not buy another Nintendo system, nor will I setup an account to play a single player game from Rockstar.

I instead am eagerly awaiting returning to Azeroth in WoW Forever.

  • I would be getting GTA 6 if it came to PC, but as it's console only I don't really have a choice. Once it does come I'll pick it up though. GTA has been one of my favorite gaming franchises, I have no reason to not have hope this one will be just as great.

  • source

Neither; I don't care about either of them. Any remote interest in GTA I had died when they announced the banned Proton support on 5, then they announced the price just to be sure.

GTA only, because for the first time ever I can't afford a switch 2 to get the game. Maybe one day, but probably not for another year at least. My friend is getting both and by accident he realized best buy is doing a midnight release so he will get it tonight. Been years since we last heard of a midnight release. I miss those days. I told him to let me know how many ppl even show.

Ocarina Remake, I already pre-ordered it and will pick it up tomorrow. Can’t wait to play it, well. After my mother played it for a few hours lol. I will not purchase GTA 6 since it is expensive, it is not on PC, and it is locked to 30 fps on PS5 (I have heard).

I was waiting for reviews to confirm what I already thought would be the case but it looks like I'll be grabbing Zelda tomorrow. GTA comes out right before my honeymoon and I never play any of those on release anyway. I have no interest in GTA's multi-player so I'm fine to wait until a later date

I'll probably pirate Ocarina when the Switch 2 gets CFW and buy GTA when it hits $15ish.

    I'm getting Queen's Domain 😛
It's been favorably compared to Lunacid, which I love to bits, and well received by King's Field-like enthusiasts, and I'm kinda one of them so, it's a no-brainer.

I'll get GTA in a few years. Probably on PC and definitely not at full price.

I'll play Ocarina but not this one. Don't have a Switch 2 and have no real interest in changing that.

I'm not sure what you mean. They definitely won't run out of WoW or GTA6, since they're both digital only, so I assume you mean Ocarina of Time. I bet they will stop selling the physical version, but I doubt they'll run out before the end of the year.

I was asking because that is a lot of games to get at launch. I've been burned on launch titles, so it's a no on all three. I've got a backlog to play, and Nintendo won't get anymore money from me. I'll emulate it first.

  • [–] 2 points 1 day ago (1 child)

Oh, gotcha. Yeah, my backlog is in the thousands but WoW is a social event for playing with old friends, Ocarina of Time is like a time capsule from my youth, and GTA6 is sure to be an unparalleled experience in every regard. Who knows how many days any of us have left in this existence, or how long civilization itself will last - can't take money with us to whatever comes next, so might as well spend it on video games. 🎮

GTA6 will likely be my last game purchase of the year and I expect it will entertain me through the winter. I don't have any other games on my radar on the horizon, it just seems that when it rains it pours.

I hope the emulation provides you a quality experience! The game is fantastic so far. It's been so long since I last played I legitimately can't tell what's new and what I've just forgotten was there.

For me clearly Zelda. I do want to okay play GTA VI, but I got Zelda, Wow Forever and other backlogs to clear I'd rather Focus on at the Moment.

But to anyone going With GTA VI: Have a great one!

  • source
  • [–] 2 points 1 day ago (1 child)

Definitely Zelda. N64 games sold for like $70 new IIRC, and to quote Bubs, "Them's 1998 dollars!" So as far as I'm concerned a ground-up remake like this is worth it, especially since I didn't play it on 3DS.

PS5 emulation is already here. They've been advancing it at an insane pace.
All we need is the GTA6 game files and oh boy they've been trying. Sony has been releasing update after update desperately trying to stop people from finding a new entrypoint and no shot it's gonna stop people with this many fans so upset at them.

We're about to see some nerds pull a GTA6 piracy any% speedrun and it's going to be hilarious

At the very least I GUARANTEE it'll happen before it comes out on PC. The only thing I'm worried about is if someone puts malware in the crack.

No. I never played Zelda and I stopped with GTA at Vice City.

  • source
  • [–] 1 point 2 days ago

Neither. If I were to get GTA, I'd have to get a PS5 (Microsoft products are out of the question) and those run about $700+ then the game itself being $80+. I'm not spending almost $800 for a game. I'll wait til it's released on PC in a year.

I'm still playing (slowly) through BotW so I won't need another Zelda title for a while. I'll probably be sinking most of my time in WoW/Forever anyways.

Neither for me as well. Never played 3D Zeldas and I like Sleeping Dogs or Mafia but not GTA.

  • source
  • I will not pre-order games, but plan to buy GTA. I donated the cost of the game to the unionizing fund in the UK. I didn't have a ps5 but got one with a disc drive used in my area.

I am pissed that ill never be able to resell GTA, but I would really like to get to play it at launch honestly.

  • source

  • [–] 2 points 18 hours ago

Was it the first heist, where you escape through the tunnels in motorcycles? I remember having an insanely tough time at that section when I played the game for the first time on XB360.

I chose the option with the driver that gave the crew souped up street motorcycles for the first try because fast bike go vroom. I kept running into shit in the tunnels though because I was too fast. Attempted that section several times before I finally broke through the other side of it, and there wasn't a sense of accomplishment when I finished. I was just annoyed with the mission and relieved it was over. When I played it on pc years later, I chose the other driver and had a fun time in the runnels.

The other diver gives you dirt bikes, and that's the one you want. So much easier, and you actually get more of a payout at the end because one of your crew wipes out in the tunnels with the fast street motorcycles, just like I did probably 100x ten years earlier.
