Oh, my daddy he once told me, "son, you be hard working man"

My mama she once told me, "son, you do the best you can"

But then one day I met a man who came up to me and said

"Hard work good and hard work fine, but first take care of head"

It literally means the opposite of neurotypical and covers way more than autism and ADHD. Such as:

    • Bipolar Disorder

    • Borderline Personality Disorder

    • Schizophrenia

    • Major Depression

    • Anxiety disorders

    • Etc

Never tried it but it probably works. I have had blueberry hamburgers (ground beef with blueberries in the patties) before and it was surprisingly coherent and delicious.

They actually meant they won't operate in states that don't let them bully the shit outta small businesses for having an animal as a logo, even if it looks absolutely nothing like theirs.

I just use the official Steam Link app to do this for Steam games. It even works on Pixel phones. Wouldn't use it for a fast-paced action game that required timing, tho, cuz the input lag is pretty noticeable. Mostly I just play Civilization through it.

    Allow me to explain:

Taking the "Crafting Survival" genre as a prime example, why do they all have the same feeling of being cheap, amateurish, and janky af? There is just this certain something about how every single one feels to play. The differences tends to be more in the grind, progression, and aesthetics while the game feel is exactly the same. The way your character moves, the way combat feels cheesy and unbound, the often minimalisticly artistic UI (like it's just a 50% transparent box with text/icons on it), and almost always riddled with bugs.

Even the big budget ones made by giant, long-lived developers tend to feel exactly the same as the independently made-by-one-dude-in-a-garage games. They might have better visuals, but everything else feels cheap and just to the point of functionality.

The weirdest part of this, to me, is that Minecraft doesn't feel like this and it is basically the grandfather of the genre. It's just every other one built in Unity or Unreal that feels like a janky ARMA module made by someone who just learned how to code. With so many developers making so many games in this genre, you'd think at least one of them would make one that feels more "luxurious." I lament not being able to put into words exactly what I mean; it's really something that can only be described through comparison and experience. But I have to believe others who have played games like Rust, Ark, Valheim, etc know what I mean.

If I am disguised as a Legion dude, will that cause NCR dudes to attack me on sight? I killed Vulpes and am wearing his clothes and nothing happened in the Mojave Outpost, but when I went back to Primm, McGee was hostile to me until I changed my outfit. Just him, tho. Not the citizens nor the "NCR Trooper" guys over across over overpass.

Should I have a backup outfit?

So they finally went and broke the Google Weather app so the widget won't work because it wants location permissions even when the app is not in use.

Homie don't play that shit. You don't need my location except when I am actively needing to use the app; go fuck yourself Google.

    Is there anything Lemmy recommends?

I am bouncing around between a few of my favorite space sim games right now and there is something I noticed just now: While you can enter asteroid fields or planetary rings and fly around dodging giant space rocks, all those rocks just sit in place and maybe rotate around. None of them move.

You can't affect their trajectory. They can't collide with each other, and you will never have to adapt to an asteroid coming out of nowhere coming toward you.

In fact the only game I can remember having moving, dynamic asteroids is literally "Asteroids."

I would love to play a game where you can have a space battle that feels like the scene in Star Wars Episode 2 when Jango is trying to take out Obi Wan. Having to dodge weapons, asteroids, and account for the asteroids movement and changing trajectory based on collisions/exploding.

    Shit would be badass.

I've just discovered this mod and I am questioning how or if it even works. I have a GTX 1660 Super. AFAIK, it does not support DLSS, but this mod allows it to be enabled anyway. But will it actually work properly or would it still be better to just use FSR (which is supported)? I used it to get FSR 4 in a game that only shipped with 3.1 and it definitely works for that; but I turned on DLSS just to see what happen and it is super blurry (like i have totally unfocused my eyes) so I am not sure if it's because of the GPU or just how DLSS looks in this particular game.

Is this weird or have I just never seen it before: I made some fettucini alfredo and some of the noodles are uncooked. And I don't mean I didn't boil them long enough, I mean like they never finished the noodle cooking process at the manufacturing level because a few strands of the fettucini are still straight up raw flour in the middle. ๐Ÿซฉ

So I got a bug in my butt to install Mortal Kombat 11 last night and was doing the story mode which is basically like a movie with intermittent fights and it occurred to me that I love Mortal Kombat but just the characters, the worldbuilding, and the lore. I've never been big on fighting games and as I age, I am finding it harder and harder to pull off special combos quick enough to even do much other than slapping buttons and hoping for the best.

My favorite MK game was one of the ones on PS2 where the story mode was basically God of War gameplay turning it from a fighter into an action adventure game.

If Midway were to make a Mortal Kombat title that was like Dark Souls but set on Outworld or something, that would definitely be my jam.

Another would be Warhammer 40k. I am not at all interested in the PnP gameplay nor a lot of the video games. But I love the lore and the game Rogue Trader is fucking dope, playing more like a traditional CRPG in that setting and not an RTS or straight up shooter.

Do y'a have any games like that? Where you like everything about them except the actual gameplay?
