I did not say that MAGA == pedophiles.

It reads as though you implied it when you said "everything is fine even if Uncle Steve is diddling your daughter (or son)" sardonically. But yes, you didn't say it outright. And yes, I agree that MAGA condones pedophilia.

Refusing to have difficult conversations with family members to hold them accountable allows the bad behavior to continue without challenge or consequence.

You have my complete agreement on this point.

If they don't want to be called Nazis, they should not:

    • support Nazi policies
    • spout Nazi propaganda
    • hold Nazi views
    • act like Nazis

Calling them Nazi is what got Trump voted [into office] in the first and definitely second place[s].

Calling them out on their actions and beliefs wasn't what put him in power. Their actions and beliefs were what put him in power.

American conservatism and American republicanism are interchangeable with MAGA.

Being a "republican" means different things based on context. The American Republican party is interchangeable with MAGA. The same is generally true of conservatism, although modern conservatism is always a harmful ideology.

If you want to go to a church on Christmas, you should go to a legitimately Christian church. Regardless of whether you want to go to church on Christmas, you should avoid Christofascist churches. Christofascism is antithetical to Christianity.

    for not being awful people

I think you meant "for being awful people".

If I am correct, and that is what you meant, I agree with your sentiment that family time is the most important and useful time to hold family accountable, and that holding family accountable is a moral imperative.

I did no such thing [a goalpost move].

I won't deny that American conservatism protects pedophiles. But you equated conservatism with committing direct molestation of a child, which was a goalpost move.

Not everyone that has a different political orientation is molesting children or some other extremity.

    True.

Family time isn’t a time and place for politics for either side.

I believe people have a responsibility to hold family accountable. Politics rest on ethics, and supporters of the modern-day US Republican party have chosen hate over morality. A family gathering is an ideal time to hold family accountable. Naturally, exceptions should be made for events such as funerals and wakes.

This post refers to the Wikipedia list of lists of programming languages, because there are multiple, including the "list of programming languages", as well as the "list of esoteric programming languages", and others.

I'd also like to point out some young programming languages without much recognition:

    • Horse64, a "more grounded rethinking of Python"
    • Curv, a language for making art using mathematics
    • Roto, an embedded scripting language for Rust used by Rotonda
    • Wren, a small, fast, class-based concurrent scripting language
    • Umka, a statically typed embeddable scripting language
    • Hare, a simple systems programming language with a static type system, manual memory management, and a minimal runtime
    • Bliss, a programming language in its infancy
    • Libelle, a small functional programming language
    • Inko, a language for concurrent software programming with deterministic automatic memory management, move semantics, static typing, type-safe concurrency, efficient error handling, etc.
    • Goal, an embeddable scripting array language.
    • Cole, a statically typed, ahead of time compiled language with a focus on metaprogramming
    • neoc, a programming language I noticed pop up on Codeberg a week or so ago (Oct-Nov 2026)
    • KC3, a programming language with "meta-programmation" and a graph database embedded into the language
    • Thorn, a pure lazy functional programming language for making ASCII art animations (and other things too)

New languages to avoid because they are entirely or mostly LLM-generated:

I've been thinking lately about AI poisoning. I want to make this post a thread for suggestions about which tools we can use to fight back. Bear in mind that I'm only talking about poisoning tools, not blocklists or bot-detection utilities. Here's a short list of what I have so far:

Website protection tarpits for text poisoning (fighting web scrapers):

    • Nepenthes was one of the first. In the words of its author, "I’m just fed up, and you know what? Let’s fight back, even if it’s not successful. Be indigestible. Grow spikes." Nepenthes's demo page is here.
    • Iocaine is the best tarpit I know of right now. It's very well-designed and performant. Version 3.0x is complete, and the fourth version is a work in progress. It's made by Gergely Nagy, who goes by the pseudonym "algernon", after the character by the same name from Flowers for Algernon, by Daniel Keyes. Iocaine's demo page is here.

I posted this elsewhere as a comment, but I thought I would post it here for feedback. I want to hear what people think of my view.

It is okay if you disagree with me; I am just sharing how I view God and spousal relationships. My goal in this post is to share my thoughts rather than to preach.

I am a Christian. I also do not understand how Christians can choose to marry a person not of their faith, although I'd love to hear from folks with differing views. I would not, but it is not out of a prejudice. I will try to explain why I hold this view.

My greatest fear is marrying someone who then apostacizes. I don't want my heart to break that way, to love someone so personally and deeply and know they will cease to be.* I hope I do not choose a man who will become an apostate. I hope not to make a hasty choice, but I have a limited pool as a gay Christian, and it is stressful.

It isn't that I would have any qualm with a difference in tradition or culture that would come with a partner from a different faith, but that I'd love them knowing they would die. That is a great and terrible grief, and is the same grief I believe God felt for every person**; the grief that compelled him to send Christ.

I will try to explain annihilationism if anyone is interested. If not, feel free to stop reading here.

I see God like the sun***; we must be with Him to live, but we are imperfect vessels. As such, His light will ablate our souls. Only through Christ's sacrifice are we made holy to stand in such light without being unmade by it. And in such a way, I believe those who refuse salvation**** burn in that light and cease to be.

That said, do not confuse me for the hellfire and brimstone sort. I believe the best way to show people God's love is to love others. My faith leads me to strive toward being a good person. I wish all Christians saw it that way.

*There are multiple beliefs about Hell/Hades/Sheol/Gehenna. Mine is annihilationism, which I have briefly surmised here. A good pastor I appreciate who shares this view is the progressive pastor Paul Drees. You may find he runs counter to the Christofascism that is so much of "evangelical" American church culture today. James Talarico also has good sermons in this more Christ-like vein of Christianity, although I do not think he is an annihilationist.

**I believe that God is Love Itself (1 John 4:20)—how can he be without grief at our suffering? No one has so much sorrow as the God who witnesses the death of his beloved children by the billions. God is Love who mourns.

***He is called Heaven's Sun and Morning Star in Scripture.

****This concept of refusal of salvation is core to Arminian Christianity.
