A lot of my fellow Latinos were very fucking stupid for voting in Trump. They were basically told - to their face - that a lot of them would be arrested and deported. After all that they they just went with it either because they thought they'd make more money and a bunch of empowered racists would leave them alone for some reason.

Contact your representative and tell them you want them to not endorse Schumer's leadership nor Jeffries' ambitions to run for Speaker of the House. The more messages they get from their constituents the more likely the establishment's goal of doing nothing will be thwarted. It doesn't take very long!

I use a burner phone whenever I leave the country to avoid having deeply personal information in it if I'd ever be asked for a password. Because I don't want any of my files to be backed up on some government server, I also don't take any pictures even when there are moments I wish I could.

How easy is it to create your own personal server and forward pictures from your phone over to it? I plan to delete the local images afterward to avoid having them in case a border guard demands my burner phone's password. Are there any guides that are easy enough to work with using a raspberry pi and a flash drive?

    AYN Thor (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I've never dabbled in dedicated emulation consoles before the AYN Thor but I'm glad I took the plunge. It captures the feel of a 3DS XL quite nicely. The dual screens and form factor capture that crucial missing element for the DS and 3DS that was missing from PCs and most other emulation hardware.

Having to set up the software can be tedious but once it's done and you finally get the chance to just play, it becomes a transformative experience. So far it's been a blast playing Nostalgia with upscaled resolution, it really shows just how much detail the developers put in but was lost due to the original limitations of DS screens. Being able to fast forward, apply cheats, and use save states vastly improved my experience from the first time I played it.

I bought the 16GB version on the hopes of emulating the PS3 and Switch and maybe PC titles one day if I get the itch to go that route. For now it's just such a pleasure using this as my daily driver.

I have a '22 Bolt EV with the telemetry circuit powered off and OnStar antenna terminated. I currently have a limited Bluetooth connection to its stereo and have refused to link my phone to Android Auto. It's rather difficult to use GPS navigation as there's no easy way to mount my phone to the dash so I've been considering going with Android Auto.

So far all my research on Android Auto has given me limited results on what information is collected from the car. Is there a valid reason I should stay away from it? Yes I'm aware Android is still keeping tabs on me but that won't change until I can get a Linux phone when my current model dies.

    DIY NVR Recommendations (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I'm looking to buy a couple of ONVIF/RTSP IP cameras to hook up as part of a home security system and could use some help with the programming side of things. I've looked around a couple of Youtube guides but they all seem to skip over some minor but important details needed to install and run an open source NVR.

Could someone point me out to an online guide that's easy to follow? I'm still very much a beginner with Linux and don't know much about how to set up Docker or HomeLab as part of the NVR's installation process. I also need to remotely access my video feeds when not at home and would like to ask for some guidance on how one can go about setting that up on both the NVR and phone side.

Below is a diagram of the planned setup. Any information would be appreciated!
