There are an estimated 12,000 ballots left to count as of late Thursday evening. Most of those ballots are from Arapahoe County. Only 85 percent of the county's votes are reported. Arapahoe County supported Laubacher overwhelmingly (60.9 percent) to Boebert's 35.8 percent.

According to NBC News, Boebert must win 61.4 percent of the remaining vote to overtake Laubacher.

I wonder if I should contact my doctor.

It's been over 48 hours by this point.

See, this is the “misogyny” that the “dirtbag left” is known for. We’re really gonna piss off some ladies with this thread.

Yeah, I think saying that it's just against her and not women isn't gonna cut it. But there's a German saying that roughly translates to "How you shout in the woods, it echoes back to you".

Now I'm wondering of its legal to sublet an apartment in a swing state, to someone in a state that doesn't need their vote, so that they can help push it over the edge.

I checked and it varies from state to state, but you only have to have an address for a month in some States too be able to vote there, and if you have two addresses, you get to pick which you want to vote for.

So basically, 2 months before an election, I could subtlet my apartment to someone for like, $1, they wouldn't even have to move or visit or anything. They update their voter registry, and once their ballot arrives, I can mail it to then to fill out and sign. They can then mail it in from there, or mail it back to me and I'll drop it off.

As far as I can tell, there are no reasons why this wouldn't work

I did my part - You're welcome. FWIW - it hasn't been called yet. Trashbert gained some over the last day to close the gap somewhat, but the last drop of results erased a bit of those gains. It's now looking unlikely she can make up much more. We're hearing that while Republican turn out was normal, they voted for other Rs on the ballot, but just didn't vote for any candidate for CO4. If this seat goes to the Dem, don't expect it to hold - this is CO's "most solid, safe Red district". Bobo relocated here when she barely held her seat in the last election in another red district. She didn't fundraise and Eileen Laubacher fundraised a huge amount in comparison (13:1).🤞 for good news tomorrow.

I did, too! I had no idea on election day that I'd be possible to flip her seat. Yesterday I found this cool graph showing how each county shifted compared to 2024 left arrows means shift towards dem, right arrows means shift towards repub. Arrow magnitude is relative to the %shift.

Yeah both are super exciting! I also find it quite funny that the tiny sliver of larimer county in district 4 has a +10,000 vote differential for Laubacher, which is more than the total votes of many of the eastern counties.

I'll never understand why the USA takes months and months to build up to an election and weeks to count the results afterwards. Other countries take a few weeks for the campaign and have the whole thing counted within a day of the polls closing.

While I won't argue that US election campaigns are long, the counting afterwards has a good explanation. The two big factors that make counting votes so complex is we have 50 versions of elections, and we bote for everything at once.

I've heard that French presidential campaigns take like one night but if I recall correctly the only thing being voted on is the presidential candidate. This makes hand sifting of the ballot into piles extremely easy and then a machine or person can just count them.

In the US you vote for a whole slew of things all at once. Proposed changes to state law through propositions, your house representative, your governor, you STATE representative, senator, STATE senator, sheriff, university head, city council, and on and on and on. So tabulating all these is a bit more complicated.

Then you have the 50 different systems. So Mississippi is going to take a while, that's because they allow for absentee mail in ballots to come in 5 days late and if a voter on election day didn't have proper ID they have 5 days to shoe proper ID and then vote. This guarantees it is going to take long after voting day to get results.

It's because it's a money making machine for the media for the lead up. Counting the votes is for when it's close and/or corrupt states.

Easy fix, already used in other countries: start mailing sooner so they arrive before the election day.

The issue when it's that close you still have to wait for everything to come in. We mail out 1-3 months in advance depending on state, but in some states you just have to have it post marked on election day

So glad not to have this xtianist representing any part of Colorado:

The church is supposed to direct the government

Um, no. Fuck you. That's not at all the way it's supposed to work. These people have zero idea of what freedom even means.

Her husband exposed himself to teenagers at a bowling alley. She got caught giving that same guy a handjob during a performance of Beetlejuice.

I think it was her hubby, ex hubby that had flashed young girls at the bowling alley. But I'm not an expert and I'm in Australia. Your politics has stained the whole world for the last ten years. I know Americans are sick of it all, the rest of the world is tired of it too. Great result recently though. Here's hoping things will get a lot lot better.
