That's impressive.

Back in the day there was a TV show called Twin Peaks. On this show one of the actresses did this with a cherry stem. Later on Saturday Night Live, they spoofed this with one of the comedians trying a bow, like you would get on a Christmas package. Cracked me up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but generally it's not one gene one trait. So altering genes to, say eliminate a specific type of birth defect, might also eliminate something else. Making this up, but say, sense of taste or maybe resistance to some other illness. This change will now be in the gene make-up and therefore propagate through future generations. Since they interact in complex ways, it can be challenging or even dangerous to make these adjustments.

Ummm, I disagree. They got a LOT done. Lots of horrible things. It's the Democrats that tend to get nothing done. Their hands are always tied somehow. Let's hope this time is the exception.

I was in Berlin in the 80's and the public transportation system was the best. Everything ran on time and generally often. When I returned to visit many years later I was very disappointed to find out it has been enshitified. I mean, it still works and coming from Florida where it's practically zero, it's great, but yeah, it's changed in a way that really surprised me because it almost goes against the rule following nature of Germans.
