The cereal giant has changed the recipes for Rice Kispies and Coco Pops making them quieter! I just don't know what to do with this mind blowing information

They're noisy and dangerous and you have to stand in the cold to watch them

I don't know why internet providers don't value their existing customers, offering only the cheapest deals to new customers, but you can play hard ball with them.

  1. Call them within the 30-day no-exit-fee cancellation period and talk about your contract ending
  2. Wait for them to offer you a shitty deal. Sound disappointed, make sure they can hear you clicking and typing, and talk about looking for other options instead. Thank them for their time, and amicably end the call.
  3. Wait a few days.
  4. Someone will call you back and offer you a less shitty deal. Make it clear that price is the main issue, and express interest in their slower packages. Get them to go as low as they can possibly go on a slower package. Sound unconvinced.
  5. Start lamenting about the current package, wistfully talking about how you wish things could remain as they are and that you don't want to keep changing providers every 2 years.
  6. Wait for them to offer the best shitty deal on your current package, and express interest. If they refuse to budge any lower on price, get them to throw in an extra like a public IP4 or something.

I'm asking this sitting on a replacement bus, with the radio being played loud by none other than the driver himself (speakers everywhere on the bus), regularly getting static/hitches at bumps while annoying ads are being as obnoxious as possible.

At one point one of the passengers decided to listen to their own phone's speakers instead. By instead, I mean as well.

To me it feels like fuck all changed, but it might be just my observation.

Casual landing

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ca/post/73049054

On Sunday, October 25th, 2026, a Jet2.com Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with registration number [G-JZHE], veered off the runway 33 while landing at Birmingham Airport (BHX) in Solihull, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, arriving from Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) in Venice, Italy 🇮🇹.

Safe for work video, the pilot brings it back in but this is a good illustration of why in bowling you put the bumpers up.

I took the dogs out and was met by utter chaos. I just about avoided a falling apple and narrowly dodged a flying bio waste bin.

Joking aside, our area is not the worst affected by any stretch. I’m sure for many the storm is no joking matter. Stay safe, folks.

Edit: fixed the title. I can’t spell.

Much as I probably wouldn’t go for this I miss random UK takeaway food! Love how much Evan is into the concept of a pie in a bun because “Americans like to eat with our hands”.
