They must have missed the gestapo in the streets shooting people. Their party gets shit done, just not for them.

I am a little nervous. I hope the democrats can deliver on fixing some of the shit Trump did, otherwise they will lose a lot of the good will they currently have.

  • There is no good will. They fix the problems, they investigate the crimes, they release the epstein files or they get primaried. This isnt the end of the fight, but the beginning. Call your reps. Do it often. Make them unnderstand that if they dont serve us then they are temporary.

If big changes within leadership and priorities don't change in the DNC, people will never trust them again. No political tricks they think work (they don't, people see through it they just accept it), no "socialism is as bad as fascism" shit, nothing like that. Secede power to the non corrupt wing of the party or perish with the Republicans.

Dems have good will? This is like rodeo 3 at least in my lifetime. I expect nothing from them but handwringing and a lot of talk. That way I won't be disappointed when they don't make meaningful, lasting change.

I will probably sound like a broken record, but write your officials about what issues are important to you. I have great difficulty with doing this myself cuz it feels uncomfy and like homework, but I try anyway.

Conservatives thrive on fearmongering. It falls apart when they are the ones in control.

They’re not wrong. This has been the most so-nothing Congress I’ve seen in my lifetime. Whenever the House was faced with a tough vote, Johnson would put them on recess. Most of the problems we’re having are because Congress has just let the President do whatever he pleased.

Ummm, I disagree. They got a LOT done. Lots of horrible things. It's the Democrats that tend to get nothing done. Their hands are always tied somehow. Let's hope this time is the exception.

We'll see if the democrats use the power they just got, or would rather just profit off the system they're criticizing.

Generally "criticizing anybody that does anything" - which is the easiest thing imaginable because nobody is perfect so there are always imperfections to criticize in their work hence any idiot can criticize the work of others - is the entirety of Far-Right politics and if and when they get any power they fuck things up since they have no clue how to actually do anything properly.

The Far-Right aren't makers, aren't builders, they specialize in criticizing makers and builders, with the only kind of "doing" they're good at being destroying the work of others.

This applies everywhere, not just the US.
