“Let’s dare him to veto”

NO! Entice him to sign it by naming it the "Trump is the Greatest President Ever!" bill. And then throw some funding in for his golf course and the arch, we can take those down later.

Use his vanity and lack of impulse control against him.

The way to make deals with Trump is to flatter him. Make a huge bill with everything we want in it, especially Medicare for all. Throw Trump a few bones like the DC golf course and the arch and then name the bill the "Trump is the Greatest President Ever!" bill.

At the very least he would be tortured at the prospect of vetoing it. But there's a chance he'd sign it. He's vain enough and demented enough to do it.

This tracks with my experience living in the deep south. Most white people in the deep south see the Democratic party as the black party and the GOP as the white party.

It really is that simple to them.

Here's how you get stuff done with a Democratic majority in Congress and Trump as president. Draft a bill to shut down ICE operations, enact Medicare for All, etc.. and name it the Trump is the Greatest President Ever bill.

Add in a Triumphal Arch and maybe even authorization to convert Stone Mountain into a bust of Trump. Hell I'd trade a stupid arch for MFA.

The mental anguish it would cause Trump to even contemplate vetoing a bill named Trump is the Great President Ever bill would be too much for him to bear.

    It's worth trying.

As far as the Iran war is concerned, draft a bill that stops the war, pays reparations and begins a normalization process and call it the Trump won the Iran war bill, or something like that.

He's so demented and diminished now that, this could actually work.

The "Trump Brilliantly Fixes the SCOTUS" bill, expanding the court, should be the last one in December 2028. Just in time for the new Democrat president to nominate justices.

Yeah the fact that this 80 billion dollar loss, which is larger than the GDP of a lot of countries, has zero effect on his quality of life is a pretty good indicator that the existence of billionaires is a danger to our economy and society.

We now have tiny trackers that are being put on Monarch butterflies to track their migration. They use GPS and bluetooth. Citizen scientists download the app on their phone and when a tagged Monarch flies near their phone, the data is updated with its location and stored data.

Now that we have bluetooth working on Home Assistant, is there anyone who knows how we could get an integration to identify these butterflies and update the master database?

I'd definitely set some sensors up outside to help this project.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday afternoon to change the name of Lake Ontario to “Lake America,” his latest escalation as he engages in a tense trade war with Canada.

“‘Lake of America’ was something I’ve been thinking about for a long time,” Trump said from the Oval Office. “We have a gulf and we have a lake. Now, all we need is an ocean. So, maybe we’ll have to change the name of the Atlantic and/or the Pacific. Maybe we’ll change them both.”

Surrounded by large maps of the Great Lakes, Trump said the name change was “effective immediately,” and that his staff had “filed all the necessary papers, documents, everything else.” A White House aide claimed the lake “has most of its volume in the United States” and that the “deepest parts” are in US territory.
