Now, I'm not going to say that I distrust white people. I will say that, give a choice between an old white man and a middle-aged black woman with the identical qualifications, I'm picking the middle-aged black woman 10 times out of 10.

As cis white male I couldn't agree more.

As one myself, I second that agreement.

And while we're at it, I would 100% trust a black woman over any old white man to "tell it like it is."

yeah white men always find a way to punish you for trusting them to act like humans. its always something with those scum fucks. then you call them out on 20gb of upskirt photos including of you and its your fault they when they strip off their outer layer to reveal an SS uniform.

This tracks with my experience living in the deep south. Most white people in the deep south see the Democratic party as the black party and the GOP as the white party.

It really is that simple to them.

They’re not far from wrong. Black people in the south vote Democrat about 80% of the time. White people in the south vote Republican about 80% of the time. The political system in the South, with its gerrymandered districts, biased media, and "good ol' boy" system is basically a giant black voter suppression machine.

Only good thing I can say about Kemp is at least he stood up to Trump on multiple occasions and isn't trying to sabotage the transition like his party wants.

I actually played a little game with myself this past election cycle to see if I could tell who was the GOP. I searched the names of the 2 candidates in some district I'd never heard of and went to the images page to try to guess. When both people were middle aged white guys it wasn't always easy.

I dunno, give it a shot with some house races:

    TN 6

    OH 12

    VA 7

    CO 3

    MO 6

I always thought it sus that so many southern states with large black populations had very few black politicians.

    It always reeked of interference.

Glad to see the tides are turning.

Part of the problem for the next two years is Trump is going to veto everything and they absolutely will not get the 10 Republicans they need to cross the party line and help them override the veto.

I agree that's likely, but they need to make sure that they 1) DO try to pass the legislation we want them to pass and 2) Are very very vocal about it, because the oligarch/fascist owned media WILL try to downplay it. So we have to keep up the pressure on them, but also make sure people realize what's going on.

Pass it anyway and make him veto it. Make the republicans vote against overriding the veto. Put it all on record exactly how they voted.

Well, that's basically what I said - we agree - although the Dems don't have enough majority to get over cloture, so they'll have to do things like reconciliation and such. But yes, exactly. Pass what they can, put it all on record.

Never forget that Brian Kemp abused his position as Secretary of State to commit election interference and steal his gubernatorial election.

As Secretly of State, he oversees gubernatorial elections. He chose to do this by violating the law by invalidating voter registrations within two weeks of the election. He did this by throwing out registrations where people's government name didn't match the name on their registration paperwork. So, if your name is "Deshawn" but your registration paperwork says "Shawn", for exaple, it got thrown out. Weirdly, there were many examples of people named "William" but their paperwork saying "Bill" that weren't thrown out. Same with Charles/Chuck and James/Jim.

    Weird, huh?

A case was presented to the District Attorney who reviewed it and declined to press charges.

Wasn't the Governor of Georgia the Secretary of State and oversaw himself getting elected? He basically argues it wasn't a conflict of interest to oversee his own election. Good riddance.
