Congrats man.

Some personal updatesI don't plan on completely quitting alcohol, but have managed to tone it down quite a lot. I now only drink on the weekends, only in the evenings, and up to 2 drinks.

Also, it's been about 7 months of no smoking for me. (I do use some nicotine pouches every once in a while though.)

I don't understand one thing about hardware keys. Aren't they, like, easy to steal? Sure, someone could torture my Bitwarden masterkey out of me, but hardware keys seem to make sabotage much much easier.

I have an old laptop that I'd like to get rid of. I've repurposed its SSD and RAM. It has an HDD on it, but it's so old, that it probably shouldn't be used anymore. A screw doesn't fit properly, so the chassis is a bit bumpy on one corner. But it works just fine. (Has an 8th gen i7 in it.)

I already have home-servers etc., so I just want to get rid of it. What's the most ethical way of doing it?

I'm currently living somewhere in southern USA, if that's relevant.

Hi, I bought a used Dell constellation HDD from eBay. Here's the link for the listing.

It's supposed to be tested by them, but when I received it, it didn't spin up. I tried putting it inside my Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 Tiny, and also tried using an external SATA to USB adapter, but none of them work.

Now, it's a bit weird and different from the usual HDDs. It's 2.5 inch, but thicker than usual, 7200 RPM, and is supposed to be enterprise grade. So maybe I'm doing something wrong, and need a special adapter for it. Or it can be a faulty drive. I'm not sure. If anyone has experience with these drives, please let me know if I should be doing something different. Thanks.

Edit: I came to the conclusion that the drive is faulty. I contacted the seller, and was given a refund.

I have a Lenovo ThinkCentre M900 Tiny (10FL) which has been working fine. Recently, I had an HDD failure, and replaced it with an SSD. This time, I decided to go with ZFS (single drive, kinda pointless, but I get scrubbing). Every once in a while, I'm getting errors while scrubbing. It's always 1-2 read or write errors. And it never reappears if I clear the error and run another scrub.

The data isn't important, and it's backed up, so I'm not too worried about it. But, the symptoms make me think that it's an issue of the SATA port inside? Is it possible to replace the SATA port inside this device. I wasn't able to find anything like part number etc. online and it looks like I need to replace the whole board. Any help is appreciated.
