Maybe she said "biological men" to clarify since conservatives seem to genuinely be confused about trans designations.

I realize it's inappropriate to refer to a transwoman as a "biological male". That's something a trans person can disclose to their doctors if needed but it isn't really anyone else's business. And such a term is dehumanizing as it denotes someone as a "specimen".

I don't think Andrew's was talking about a specific person. Just clarifying for ignorant people.

But I don't know for sure. Maybe someone should ask her.

I just try to give people the benefit of the doubt when they haven't shown any prior behavior that would indicate discrimination tendencies.

They have many super pacs they use to funnel money to dems without being noticed immediately.

This is why , as a good rule of thumb, any politician getting a lot from PACS means they likely are either 1. Bought by companies. 2. Bought by Israel. Or 3. Both.

Vote for Dems who get most of their donations from small individual donations.

Large individual donations could just be corporations or aipac trying to hide who gave the money.

Here are some of aipacs "secret" PACS.

There are probably many not yet found out. Especially smaller ones or newer ones.

Many do not say "Israel" nor "Jewish" in the name and just sound like progressive groups. Many imply they are for minorities and women politicians.

A whole new government department will need created, staffed.

    With state oversight departments.

Billing software will need created unless existing is up to the task. Idk how old it is.

Reviews of hospitals and clinics costs and charges will need reviewed from every location and pricing allowances determined.

A lot of this already exists for Medicaid and Medicare though.

This would honestly take at minimum, 2 years. Even piggybacking from Medicaid/Medicare infrastructure and logistics.

Dental and vision will probably take longer.

But a lot of Medicaid/Medicare current work infrastructure likely needs a huge overhaul. I think there will be a demand to get it going.

It's going to take an enormous amount of planning and human resources, but under the right project planner and good oversight , it can be done. Effeciently.

There will be a huge amount of fraud from corp owned clinics and hospitals. Just like there already is. But they will try to do more fraud and over-charging while the system is being set up.

And behind door negotiations to allow for spurious overcharging on things like rx. Unless we require transparency at every corner and make it illegal for companies to charge over a certain profit margin amount.

BEFORE negotiations start. So there are hard limits. No exceptions for friends. Or bribes.

Luckily, a ton of people with experience working in health insurance will be needing new jobs.

I myself used to work in health insurance.

I remember when the Obama care kicked in. The company I worked for jacked up all the premiums. And lowered the benefits.

Because the Obama care paid what the individuals couldn't. So the higher the premium and the worse the benefits, the more money the insurance company made.

They were charging people $500 a month for shit insurance. That was worse than what people had 6 months previously for $360. $2000 deductable (vs previous $900). Max out of pocket moved up to 5 digits when it had been around $6,000).

I wasn't sure how that wasnt illegal. But they did it. And I never saw it change. I never saw any healthcare company getting called out for the premium spikes that only applied to people getting the ACA subsidies.

It's waste like that , that I'm worried about.

These healthcare companies claimed that the ACA would cost them billions. Because people who were sick. Who had long standing health problems that were severe from not being treated, would be running to the DR now that they had insurance. (Yes, this was their real argument. God knows we had a fuck ton of meetings on it,)

Yet in reality, A law expanding health insurance to so many people, essentially getting a ton of people to buy their product (insurance) was going to make them $$$$$$

Like it was so obvious. They wouldn't lose a dime. I knew they were blatantly lying to us workers. Constantly.

At the same time they fired more than half the people I worked with and outsourced the work to Malaysia. Blamed it on Obama.

So the u.s government gave billions to greedy companies that immediately cut corners to provide a lower quality product whilst simultaneously jacking up the subscription cost and paying out less than ever before.

Also that company was hcsc that I worked for. A blue cross subsidiary. (I think that's the right term).

I have no doubt that all the big ones did this exact same thing though.

Maybe they thought it unlikely that florida would vote blue so allocated their resources to a historical purple state. ?

I wanted her to win but it was florida.

I thought it unlikely. But hoped it would be close.

Even though she lost she did have an impact. She only barely lost.

It got people more comfortable with the idea of a Dem in seat. Maybe it will be her next time if she runs again.

They did a coup last time. Pretty sure they are planning to do another in two years. Miller is just starting with the planning already, moving up in position to start up the fuckery.

Wasn't it someone calling her a transwoman?

    She supported trans rights.

While she does not support surgical intervention for minors, Andrews does believe in socially affirming the professed gender identity of young children before transitioning them into a medical protocol around puberty that could include hormone blockers and cross-sex hormones.

I think most people agree that irreversible cosmetic (aka not medically necessary) surgeries shouldn't be done on children underage.

Is anyone actually saying they should? So that's a moot point.

As for her recent comment on sports.

“So, I want you to hear me loud and clear. I don’t support [transgender women] playing women’s sports. And I don’t support and haven’t ever performed gender surgery for minors.”

    https://www.thestate.com/news/politics-government/article317625274.html

She does say "women". Not girls.

She's not saying children should be banned from playing sports.

And as for adult women , trans or cis , playing on men's teams, ...this is a complex topic with no simple response.

So I disagree with giving a blanket statement. But maybe she hasn't thought about it much or looked into it more.

Quite a lot of gender divided sports are because historically , women were excluded. So they started their own. Or because men were afraid a woman would beat them. (Oh the indignity!) Not because there are biological differences that make them too different to compete.

Like golf. Archery, billiards, chess, and probably a ton more.

I'm not saying we give her a free pass. I'm saying she's not "anti trans" just because she doesn't endorse every complex issue relating to trans people.

We need to keep watch and see how she proceeds with policies and trans rights.

I realize that there is a lot of anti trans rhetoric right now. And it's not just talk. It's leading to insane bathroom laws, and banning kids in sports. Requiring genital inspections.

    It's dangerous. Harmful.

But she's not a Republican obsessed with trans women/girls.

Her perspective likely comes from a place of knowledge about human bodies. And likely a lack of knowledge about changes in bodies as a result of hormone transitioning. Because there still isn't much research on this.

I always thought it sus that so many southern states with large black populations had very few black politicians.

    It always reeked of interference.

Glad to see the tides are turning.

I went years not eating these because of the terror and anxiety of having to open one. And one day by chance (dropped it in the sink that had water in it.) I found the secret to not getting the piss scared out of you.

Here it is. These cans are cardboard. Cardboard disintegrates in water.

If you peel back just a little of the paper. And sit it in a bowl, Make sure the side you peeled is facing down. and pour in a little water.

Then quickly leave the room or put it in your fridge or something. And in a minute or two it will pop open. And you will hear it from a safe distance. And you will be okay.

So this cat has had some health problems and is FIV positive. He just had a teeth cleaning done about 2 weeks ago.

He is easy going. But when I touch this area he tries to get away and makes unhappy noises.

To me these areas look swollen. Almost like a round lump. They are soft.

More pronounced when he lays on his side. Sticks out almost ball shaped. Like a distinct ball shaped fattty area.

Now he had an injury to this area when I first took him in, (he was a stray. I took him in around April).

I've never had an overweight cat. I am not sure if this is abnormal and needs a vet visit. Or it's normal to have fat deposits there and he's just unhappy about being touched there from the old injury.

Anyone have a fat cat and can confirm it's normal or not.

My other concern is, it's a swollen lymph node or something . It is bilateral but bigger on one side but definitely on both sides.

I've taken this cat to the vet so much that I don't want to take him in just for normal fat deposits.
I am aware he is overweight. It's been challenging managing his bottomless pit appetite but his diet is being managed.

I can't seem to find this info online about fat deposits. Do cats put on fat right around the hip joint area ?

Maybe not all cats do but some ?

Here is an illustration with the lumpy fat area circled.
