We all know that Kira Yamato is infamous for surviving a nuke from his Gundam 2x. However , the more I thought about it, the more I think that both moments could've been easily rewritten.

Let me explain: both his battles with Athrun & Shinn happened near the ocean. So instead of either the Strike or Freedom exploding, what if both of them just sank into the ocean. That way, both his death & survival could've been believable. So if people assumed he died, it'll be because he drowned. But, when see him alive, we can easily assume that got shipwrecked.

I dunno that's just my take on it.

Between these 2 follow up seasons, which one do you think is the worst? Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny or Iron Blooded Orphans Season 2? I can at least say Destiny has…a story… that's more than I can say about IBO S2. While IBO S2 doesn't have a whiny bitch of a protagonist. I genuinely can't express how equally I felt equal amounts of frustrating hatred towards both of these shows. I guess it's a matter of being mad at a series that could've improved upon its predecessor or mad at a series that spits on everything great about the 1st series, which…. let's just talk about what's wrong with each show individually:

  • Destiny: Both shows had trouble productions, but I think Destiny had it way worse. After the success of SEED, Bandai/Sunrise demanded a follow up to the series. With NO PRE-PRODUCTION, so the director & script writer, Mitsuhide Fukuda & Morosawa, had to make a lot of this stuff up on the spot. And that's just the beginning of the issues Destiny faced behind the scenes. Apparently, Morosawa had beef with one of the Voice Actors on the show, so that led her to worsen their characterization in the show. As for the mess in the show itself, what can I say that hasn't been said before. So here are the cliff notes; Shinn is an annoying shit who doesn't grow as a character, the conflict feels so nonsensical & chaotic that your not rooting for either sides, a handful of characters are reduced to useless shells of themselves (both old & new), and instead of improving their new protagonist, they cave into fan demand and made their old protagonist their main one again, shafting the new one. Anything that can be said about this show, has been said.
  • IBO S2: this one has more fans & defenders, which I sorta understand. And while there wasn't much BTS drama, the creators still tried to have their cake & eat it too. Which perfectly embodies the issue of this season, it tries to make Tekkendan wrong while not making them irredeemable. Which immediately fumbles since the idea of mob story is that they make a likeable character progressively irredeemable. Even some cut concepts for the show would've served to story they were trying to tell, like Naize & even Eugene planning to betray Tekkendan. But the issue that makes this season worst is that how they handled Gjarllhorn. The new members are unlikeable pricks, and they're supposed to be the heroes we're supposed to be rooting for. But what grinds my gears the most is how they made McGillis incompetent compared to S1 and how they brought back Gallieo, just because the crew liked his VA (which is a really stupid reason to retcon his death). I can go on, but like Destiny, anything that can be said about this season has been said all ready.

Now the real question is, which one's worse: Destined to be bad or Iron makes my Blood boil O+?

For me, I guess I can look at what they offer. Like both equally has good Mecha action & great music (something a Lehman uses to justify slop). But a mark for what makes a Gundam series good, is their theme (not the opening). SEED Destiny may have pretty bad writing, but it has some themes of propaganda, information manipulation, and pre-determined Destiny. IBO S2 still had some deep themes of poverty & children being forced into brutal environments to keep bread on the table. Soooo….. Destiny is marginally better in my opinion

For me, 2 things come to mind; Berserk & the Long Walk

Berserk may sound controversial, but I just didn't have a good time watching the 90's anime. I felt angry while watching it. I just didn't like the characters for how dickish they were (especially Guts & Casica) and the setting was too miserable for me. And some of you may go, "but the comic is 10x better" (I know it's manga, I'm just calling a comic to piss of people) I also just don't like dark fantasy in general, since they're edgy, pretentious, and worst of all... they're ugly. There's a reason why I never played the Dark Souls games, outside of the difficulty

The Long Walk movie is really well made movie with amazing acting. But man was it a miserable movie to go through. Seeing all those kids getting shot by soldiers for being slower was painful to watch.

Side note: there's a lot of critically acclaimed stuff I like (Cowboy Bebop & the Dark Knight). It's just that entertainment is so subjective that it's not mutually exclusive to writing.

I've recently played Resident Evil 6 for the 1st time after playing Resident Evil 4 (an absolute masterpiece) & Resident 5 (a pretty good game). I was already aware of the hate this game got over the years. But after experiencing it, it's only bad in an artificial way. Like yeah, it's nothing like the classic games and it's too much in the action category.

Otherwise, as someone who loves action games, it's a pretty fun game. Especially in Mercenaries Mode, where it's fun to mow down body-horror themed enemies. As a Resident Evil game, it's pretty bad. But...as an action third person shooter with splatter punks, it's quite well executed
