Is it me, or Wing fans hate SEED more than most Gundam fans? (thelemmy.club)

Wing & SEED hover around the same area for me, as I think they're alright and respect their importance to the franchise.

However, whenever I see SEED hate, it's usually from Wing fans. Like, they'll gush over the Wing Zero's angelic wings, but will throw a fucking tantrum over the Freedom's mechanic wings

Nah. I don't think I've seen that much more hate coming from Wing fans. Hell, I don't think I've ever seen anyone "throw a tantrum" over Freedom's wings.

If you're seeing anything, it's just pure statistics: In 2000, Wing fans were a tremendous segment of the Gundam fandom. UC hadn't had a main-line entry since the unsuccessful Victory in 1994, with only 08th MS Team to tide it over in the meantime. The other side continuities (AWGX and Turn-A) had failed to pick up steam.

So a fan who was active, emotionally engaged, and willing to disagree in the fandom was most probably a Wing fan.

    Huh? Is Unicorn not mainline UC? Does it not count because it was an OVA series?

    I dunno, I personally hated Wing even more than SEED Destiny or Freedom, but that's a sample size of one.
