Japanese Toilets Play Music So You Don't Embarrass Yourself

TL;DR

The Otohime is a wall-mounted speaker, launched by TOTO in 1988, that plays roughly 25 seconds of running-water sound to mask the noise of using the toilet. It is named after a dragon princess, replaced a wasteful habit of repeat-flushing that cost the country 2.7 million tonnes of water a year, saves around 6 litres per use, masks sound up to 45 dB, and is now installed in roughly 80% of Japanese women’s public restrooms. It is also, depending on who you ask, either a model of considerate design or a small monument to gendered shame. Possibly both.

Whether they are actually good from a realistic standpoint is another matter, though. Some just go by edgy aura.

With this relaxation of the criterion, I'd say

    Tap for spoilerProspera Mercury

from The Witch from Mercury fits the bill.

Feels like a cheap answer tbh. One can probably mention quite a few Gundam antagonists in this thread.

Plenty of videos of the immersives on Youtube; I referred to this playlist.

    Disclaimer:

This tier list is my own subjective take. In terms of personal preferences / bias, I tend to value camera work and soundtrack more than other aspects.

    Thoughts:

    In general

Nothing belongs in S-tier IMO. The S-tier should be reserved for something that stood out, something that truly exceeds expectations. Prime examples from A-series would be Mewtwo and Palkia IMO. I don't find any B-series immersive to be on the same level.

On a more meta level, it feels like the B-series immersives just don't hit the same high as the A-series ones.

    Card-specific

Mega Lucario is the worst immersive for me. All it did was have the camera pan around and zoom out from Mega Lucario, then bring in a cut-out of Mega Charizard. So lame, so underwhelming. As a bonus, the still image is a way too zoomed-in close-up of Mega Lucario's face.

Mega Charizard Y is the runner-up for worst immersive. Just like with Mega Lucario, all the camera did was pan around, giving us close-ups of the Charmander evolution line. At least the still image looks cool.

Based on my preferences, you'd think I would rank Mega Gardevoir significantly lower. All it does is zoom out a few times! But something about the zoom-out-and-pause timing fits, plus the soundtrack slaps. I ended up enjoying this one more than I thought I would.

But these are just my opinion.

What are your thoughts on the B-series immersives? How would you rank them? Do you have a clear favourite (or clear dislike)?
