Thank you! 🩷

As for the timing, that is when my doctor prefers to test. He's my primary care doctor who primarily takes trans clients for primary care and hormone therapy.

I do not know his reasoning, but I've been going to him for 3 years and he's the one who switched me to monotherapy. I believe he's more interested in the "average" level, rather than either extreme, as for most of the days you'll be closer to that than the peak or the trough. He factors the testing timing into determining what an appropriate level is, and he's stated that mine is slightly on the high end for what he finds acceptable, but as I feel good at this level, he's kept me on this dose since we got it dialed in about 3 years ago. Is it the best method? 🤷‍♀️ I don't know.

I do know this dose works much better for me than my previous provider. I had a lot of mood swings because they had me on a higher dose (10mg) on a longer interval (every 14 days instead of 7).

I'm glad removing the cypro has made you feel better, and I'm glad you're doing good!

I take 4mg of EV once per week, and at 3.5 days post injection I just tested 296 pg/mL. My T is 26 ng/dL.

I've been on EV monotherapy (I do also take progesterone) for about 3 years, and I've been EV injections for ~6 years, with pills for about a year before that. I was on spironolactone for my T blocker up until I switched to monotherapy.

I get similar leakage to what you've described, though I was getting that while on my tblocker as well. The only thing that really changed for me after switching to monotherapy was no more side effects from the spiro (mainly, I'm not always thirsty while also needing to pee all the time).

  • I am not sure how to better phrase this to come off as not attacking you, but before I respond to the comment's contents I need to make this clear. "Supporting transgenders" is a shitty phrasing that is used to dehumanize transgender people. Transgender is not a noun, I am not "a transgender", I am a transgender person or a transgender woman (also common shit, transwoman instead of trans woman). Again, I am not trying to accuse you of being transphobic, I just want to educate anyone reading this as I see this all too often on the internet!

    1. Republicans are transphobic, that's just a fact. They'll also accuse even the most transphobic Democrat of being too pro trans people. Turek is actively campaigning on harsher anti-trans policies than those that exist in Republican lead states. They are both awful, but only one of them is in direct opposition to their own party's platform.

    2. You're so close to getting where I am coming from with this one. If DNC leadership sees that running on a platform of bigotry wins elections, they'll double down on it hard. We'll be their "acceptable sacrifice". Bodily autonomy is the stated policy today, but what about in 2028? 2030? 2032? Will that still be the policy in a few years if people like Turek win? I don't want the party to normalize transphobic policies as an acceptable stance for candidates to hold.

"There’s a saying in Germany. If there’s a Nazi at the table and ten other people sitting there talking to him, you got a table with eleven Nazis." I'd rather not to have people like this sit down at the Democrat's table.

Look at what happened in the UK with Labour. They swung super far right on trans rights immediately upon winning. Trans people are worse off now than they were under the conservatives.

If you read a couple more lines about Josh Turek:

Read as federal policy, this is a Hyde Amendment for transgender people—no Medicaid, Medicare, or ACA subsidies. It would be horrific. The policy is more extreme than even some Republican policies in red states.

So, how is he better than his Republican opponent exactly? They both want to kill trans people, but only Josh Turek will show Democratic consultants that anti-trans policies win elections if he wins.
