Ummm, so it's been about 10 days now since I stopped taking cypro. I'm effectively on monotherapy now, only valerate injections.

I take 5mg of EV every 4 days. I'm a bit worried, because last time, my trough was only 110pg/ml at this dosage...and now I'm not taking cypro. So I'm worried my T will rise.

What also fuels my worries is what's been happening to my body. I don't smell worse or any different really, my skin seems the same, I'm not any oiler...but my libido is definitely changing. And...I'm not sure I like it.

I just have a higher libido in general (you've seen my 196 posts lol). I have dirty thoughts waaaay more often and these thoughts also cause reactions in me...meaning erections (ew, hate it).

They're nothing like they were pre-HRT, but still...I'm not sure it's a good thing. There's also something else...
I noticed that there's more...leakage...than there ever was before. Just from arousal, not climax (I haven't had one in a loooong time). There's like literally a string of whatever the fuck this clear fluid is...

There was never any leakage before and I certainly didn't have this much functionality...and I'm not sure I like it tbh. If you told me it was normal and that mono was working, I'd be like "cool". But since I'm only getting a blood test in a couple of weeks, I'm worried...I'm worried my T is rising and I'm ruining my transition. I'm afraid I'll lose a whole month of HRT because of mono...

Basically...I desperately need some words of comfort right now please. I'm actually freaking out, cause HRT is like one of the most important things to me. And I really want everything to go well...
Please girlies, HALP ๐Ÿ˜ญ

I take 4mg of EV once per week, and at 3.5 days post injection I just tested 296 pg/mL. My T is 26 ng/dL.

I've been on EV monotherapy (I do also take progesterone) for about 3 years, and I've been EV injections for ~6 years, with pills for about a year before that. I was on spironolactone for my T blocker up until I switched to monotherapy.

I get similar leakage to what you've described, though I was getting that while on my tblocker as well. The only thing that really changed for me after switching to monotherapy was no more side effects from the spiro (mainly, I'm not always thirsty while also needing to pee all the time).

I'm glad it's working for you! Happy for you ๐Ÿฉท

I have a question tho. Why do you test midweek? The most important measurement is the trough, which is right before the next injection. You want to be measuring the lowest E levels you have, is that not correct?

    Thanks for the comment ๐Ÿ’œ
I was taking cypro, so removing that made me feel a lot better. I'm doing good! <3

  • Thank you! ๐Ÿฉท

As for the timing, that is when my doctor prefers to test. He's my primary care doctor who primarily takes trans clients for primary care and hormone therapy.

I do not know his reasoning, but I've been going to him for 3 years and he's the one who switched me to monotherapy. I believe he's more interested in the "average" level, rather than either extreme, as for most of the days you'll be closer to that than the peak or the trough. He factors the testing timing into determining what an appropriate level is, and he's stated that mine is slightly on the high end for what he finds acceptable, but as I feel good at this level, he's kept me on this dose since we got it dialed in about 3 years ago. Is it the best method? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ I don't know.

I do know this dose works much better for me than my previous provider. I had a lot of mood swings because they had me on a higher dose (10mg) on a longer interval (every 14 days instead of 7).

I'm glad removing the cypro has made you feel better, and I'm glad you're doing good!
