Maybe they should offer this man a job
post
He also refused people with expired bus passes. Police get a lot of criticism, but it seems they handled this one about as well as could be expected.

At first, passengers didn't realize the man wasn't a bus driver, McKenna said. But when he started making some wrong turns, they started asking him questions and one gave him directions to return to the scheduled route.
He even went as far as to deny someone looking to board with an expired bus pass," police said in the news release.
The absolute legendary irony of the man stealing a bus but denying a rider with an expired pass. “Sorry bud, I dont make the rules” Im dead
"you kept making the stops?!"
"YOU'RE BATMAN!"
Better work than some bus drivers I’ve encountered!
HSR should give this guy bus driver training!
"of no fixed address" is the most asinine way of saying homeless I've ever heard.
I really hope that doesn't catch on like "unalive"
NFA doesn't mean on the streets.
Live in a van? NFA
Couchsurfer? NFA
It just means they aren't registered at an address, such as being on the electoral role.
I have the local jobcentre as my registered address as when I'm back in the UK I live between my van and various Travelodge for work.
Am I homeless? No
What's the definition of theft in Canada? Here it requires intent to keep the object, which I don't think is given in case of a spontaneous joy ride where the person returned the bus.
It's the same as the definition of theft everywhere else. He stole a bus. You can't get off saying to planned to return something like some 11 year old.
Just looked it up, and in Canada "intent to temporarily deprive the owner" is theft.
Canadian police seem pretty level-headed here.
"There was not a ding on the bus. He did a great job," said McKenna said. "It's comical but at the same time it's serious. We're thankful nobody was hurt."
"We didn't want to spook him," he said. "We didn't want to make this a tragedy."
Yeah, that’s not very typical. I’d like to make that point.
The bus didn't even have to be towed outside the environment, bravo to this guy.
Which "that" are you referring to? The homeless person's driving skills, the police handling of the incident, or something else? I mean if he was that good at driving it, then once he gets his shit in order, maybe they could take the opportunity to help out a guy who's obviously in need of a job to build a life with. Certainly would give them a good look with the public, I'd think.
