Lol. Not the Jays season we'd hoped for so far though :/

Drake Hotline Bling (2-panel) meme. Nah: America 250. Yeah: Blue Jays' 50th

Still new to baseball. I know enough to recall that the Rockies and Athletics weren't strong teams last season, probably aren't strong this season. Would just going by the standings from last season be a good place to get a casual idea of which opponents will be better tests for the Blue Jays? Or any pitchers on weaker teams?

Any upcoming games you're particularly curious about in that vein?

I'm sick of the sportsnet service disconnecting me a dozen times during a game and requiring me to navigate through the app and to the game I was watching and to where I was in the game when it kicked me off.

I don't have cable or satellite and won't be getting them.

What are the remaining recommended ways to watch games?

Taken from Reddit. The MLB Xitter account is engaging in international relations the only way the 'Muricans seem to know how.

I keep seeing this on tv, had assumed it was a junior tournament but then saw Naylor playing and he's one of the handful of baseball folks I know. So unless things have gone really badly for him over the summer...

How do teams decide "yeah, they can play in that" versus "they need to play our spring training" ? Also, why the heck is Puerto Rico its own team?

I tried some googling but didn't get much there. Cheers yall!

Jameson Taillon gets the start for Team Canada (1-0), after their 8-2 win over Colombia yesterday. Panamá's starter is TBD. They're 0-2 after losing in 10 innings 4-3 to Puerto Rico (host of all Pool A games) last night

I really hope this is just the rumour mill. I was really hoping Bo would stay in Toronto. He wanted to, the Jays couldn't make him a decent offer?

Jays Sign Dylan Cease (www.bluebirdbanter.com)

Jon Heyman is reporting that the Jays signed Dylan Cease to a seven-year, $210 million contract. At least he spells his first name right. Cease will be 30 at the end of December.

He averaged 97 mph on his fastball last year. He had an off-season last, 4.55 ERA but the year before he had a 3.47 ERA. He was number 3 on Ben’s list and number 9 on Keith Law’s list. He’s made 32 or 33 starts for five straight years.

Per Jeff Passan, the deal is pending a physical for Cease.

Sportsnet: Shane Bieber opts in with Blue Jays for 2026

Everyone and their dog seemed to believe he was going to be gone, testing free agency, if he had anything even close to an OK fall.

I wonder if this means he's been told something about to cohesiveness of the team in the face of all of the free agents right now.

It wasn't how any of us wanted the series to end, and the fact that they were literally millimetres from walking it off was tough to stomach, but damn was it a good series. Damn, did the Jays play some good baseball this year. And while I may be snacking on grapes that are a little under-ripe, I know that they should have won that series.

People can point to the mistakes the Jays made -- and they made plenty -- but we can just as easily point to key bad ball/strike calls that significantly changed the outcome of the series (while also acknowledging that we got some almost shocking calls in our favour, too), or to the absolutely wild bad luck we had with broken bats, lodged balls, and BABIP.

They lost the series by millimetres at least 6 times by my count.

That's wild. And it resulted in some of the best games I've ever watched.

Here's to next year. We're just 3 months from the start of Spring Training!

The expected starters are Max Scherzer and Shohei Ohtani

The Blue Jays are 3-2, needing just one more win to win it all.

Gausman against Yamamoto.

What's your pick, Jays in 6 or Jays in 7?

Picture of a painted Alejandro Kirk mural on the wall of a highway underpass. There's a headshot of Kirk wearing a Blue Jays cap, his last name in large letter behind his head, all against a red background. I'd guess that this is in Mexico.

Game 5. It's now a best-of-3 series, with 2 of those games to be played in Toronto. Tonight is the rematch of Trey Yesavage against Blake Snell.

Last night was a long game (18 innings!) and a tough loss. The Jays, behind Shane Bieber, will take on Shohei Ohtani (starting pitcher) and the Los Angeles Dodgers again today. The Dodgers currently lead in the series 2-1.

The series is tied 1-1. Max Scherzer versus Tyler Glasnow on the bump today.

I picture of Mylse Straw at Dodger Stadium during practice. He's wearing an old school Blue Jays t-shirt, and he's flexing both arms for the camera

Game 7. Who will punch their ticket to the World Series tonight? George Kirby is on the mound versus Shane Bieber. Go Jays go!!!

Seattle's up 3-2 in the series. Toronto must win both of the next 2 games to advance, while Seattle only needs to win one. Tonight's pitching matchup is Yesavage vs. Gilbert. Let's hope George is back after taking that pitch off the knee last game! Go Jays Go!
