That looks like a gang, operates like a gang, and should be kicked off of the turf of any self-respecting gang, imho.

Honestly where the fuck are the gangbangers in all this? All that talk about fuck the police and how hard they are and all and there hasnt been one incidence of ICE being rolled up on by the westside crips.

That's because ICE are cowards. Wouldn't be surprised if they're purposefully leaving areas under direct gang control alone.

They're goal is fear and intimidation. They are going to every area and doing one or two workplace arrrests so that nobody feels safe. They're not actually ready for a coordinated resistance. No cops are actually trained for anything like that.

they are, at the very least, not performing these kidnappings in “open carry”/“constitutional” states. For obvious reasons.

Forget gangbangers. Protesters and activists should dress like ICE agents. Law enforcement are supposed to wear uniforms for two vital reasons:

    1. So civilians can know who is legitimate law enforcement.

    2. So law enforcement can know who is legitimate law enforcement.

ICE doesn't give a shit about (1), as they figure they have enough fire power to kill anyone who tries to arrest or assault them for dressing up like thugs. But they've completely forgotten about (2), and in the process have made themselves incredibly vulnerable to nonviolent protest and disruption.

Forget holding signs. ICE has been rapidly expanded. Not only have the ranks swelled, but all sorts of people like militia members and bounty hunters have been deputized. Which means that not even the ICE agents on the ground are going to know who all is a member of ICE. They're all wearing masks anyway.

In the heat of the moment, ICE agents don't have any way of telling who an ICE agent is.

Forget holding up signs in protest. What really needs to happen is for every ICE raid to be swarmed by dozens of fake ICE agents. Normally using this tactic on law enforcement would be impersonating a police officer. But since ICE aren't wearing uniforms, there's nothing to impersonate!

Imagine if every ICE raid was accompanied by dozens randos showing up and just getting in the way and causing chaos. Show up dressed as masked ICE thugs. Collect some of the immigrants being detained, put them in your own unmarked cars, and let them go a few miles away. Walk into a raid site like you own the place and are meant to be there. Then start taking up space, giving contradictory orders, standing in doorways, just generally causing any kind of nonviolent chaos you can think of. Turn their whole raid into a giant shit show of a circus.

It's time to weaponize ICE's lack of identification. They don't ID themselves to avoid accountability. But it's time they were reminded of exactly why officers started wearing uniforms in the first place.

Why aren't masked and armed individuals with weapons and no badges, that make attempts to abduct people, being shot?

Because the whole second amendment thing was about carrying a gun in the hope that you get to shoot a black person, a school kid or a teacher.

Probably because the Democrats are so anti-gun/weapon. The target demographic probably leans anti-weapon, even if they're not necessarily Democrats. The combination keeps them more vulnerable. It's even worse when carrying weapons in these areas is outright banned: no training, no permits, only police. The safety of the group is generally prioritized over the safety of the individual. Which, like here, can be a problem.

From how they're acting, it seems only a matter of time. They seem to check all of the boxes for a lethal or deadly force in nearly every state, even the strict ones. An unidentified suspiciously dressed group aggressively surrounding you and preventing your retreat? Lethal/deadly force can often be used to defend another person. Someone else can shoot these idiots in plain clothes with no identification.

Even if "police" identify themselves late, it seems to be setting themselves up for a weak defense

It's not shame they feel, it's about self-preservation. They know that if everyone knew who they were they would be reprisals.

If anybody knew who any of these guys were, and worked out where they lived, I wouldn't give them 24 hours. Eventually they'll deport the wrong person and someone with a gun will decide that the ends justify the means, and that'll be that. It will probably spark a massive military escalation on trump's part, but it won't matter to them.

They are not, in fact, enforcing the law. See Abrego Garcia.

When masked men in other countries roll up and black bag people to unmonitored black sites we call it what it is, secret police.

Overstaying a visa is a misdemeanor. Should jaywalkers get sent to torture camps? Shuffling people in to camps to starve wasn't right when Greece did it either, but they had the excuse of being overwhelmed by volume, not deliberate cruelty.

It's obvious you're trolling, as it is obvious that the people operating (supposedly) as part of ICE are playing fast and loose with the law (on top of being tyrannical for the sake of example).

Where's the well regulated militia you Americans scream about so loudly when someone suggests not letting a mentally ill child own an assault rifle?

Isn't this exactly the government tyranny that argument is used to defend against?

Where's the well regulated militia you Americans scream about

So, one could argue that the well regulated militia in question is constituted by the National Guard, as they nominally are the armed forces of individual States, and can be nationalized under certain circumstances.

Except for the fact that Trump just nationalized the California National Guard when he's nominally not supposed to....

The way the legal system in the US works is just incredible. There are things that are very much illegal, but if the president does them apparently everyone is just fine with it.

The majority of citizens are not "fine" with it, we are watching the results of the capture of every branch of government.

The template for this actually played out in Texas. Texas has a very weak governors office in terms of formal powers. Under George W Bush the Republican party systematically took control of each state office and coordinated their efforts to effect the agenda of Bush, Perry, and now Abbott.

They are doing the same thing at the federal level with project 2025 under Trump, they took the supreme court, and now they have removed the career civil servants that would refuse illegal orders from Trump.

If history of other dictatorships is any guide the powers of ICE will be expanded steadily and the other law enforcement agencies and military will be continually overshadowed by ICE and eventually subordinated to them, like the Republican guard of Iran or the SS in Nazi Germany.

  • source

  • [–] 5 points 1 year ago

One should argue that. Even though the national guard acts as a branch of the military, technically they are whats considered a "organized milita" and are actually under the control of the state government

They're too busy gargling republican boot to bother rising up against the tyranny they've cried about for decades.

To a unnerving amount of people's surprise, they only cared about the power of the state when they thought it was being used improperly (having a tolerant democracy), and are more than happy to see it used the way they want (hurting brown people)

A lot of these areas have much more stringent gun laws. Yes, they can own the guns, but they can't carry them. Carrying/displaying will probably get them arrested and charged with a weapons felony.

I'm usually told we've moved beyond the need for people to do that. Then we should just leave the use of force to the police: The organizations that consistently seem to try to prove we can't trust them. I agree, the police should be an organization Americans can trust: How can we make them that way?

    Does anyone see the irony?

    • U.S. conservatives "trust" the police, but still want civilians to be armed.
    • U.S. "leftists" distrust the police, but want them to be the only ones armed.

The U.S. never fixed their trust issues with police. So this seems like the logical result.

Hey dumbass, it turns out that:

    1. Each state has its own laws about this. Where I live the same state constitution that ALSO specifically grants us the right to own firearms for self defense explicitly forbids belonging to any private militia.

    2. My part (Democrats) is so overwhelmingly anti gun that 99% of aren’t armed to begin with. So precious militia you’re smugly pretending to ask about? Yeah you’re looking at them in the post to begin with. They’re all boot licking fascists.

Nice try though, pretending disarming Americans is the answer to anything other than more deportations, more oppression, and so on.

I’ll give you this: literally neither side gives a shit about the actual underlying problem: mental health. Over half of ALL gun deaths in the USA each year are from suicide. You don’t need an AR15 for that. Banning and removing all guns successfully won’t stop all those people wanting to be dead, but my fellow Democrats don’t care and the fascists sure don’t.

LOL. My point was, when you have come down of your high horse, that the opponents of gun control hide behind the Second Amendment and the need to protect themselves from government overreach, but those are the exact same people who jump up to volunteer to do that exact bit of overreach.

Plus I get to have a little dig at your country's ridiculous gun laws at the same time.

opponents of gun control hide behind the second amendment

What? That doesn't even make any sense. Anti-Gun folks continually make laws against the second amendment (Imo, I know this is gonna get a lot of flack here but that's not the point.

The second amendment protects the rights of civilians owning guns. And folks who are pro-gun tend to overwhelmingly lean right after years of bastardization from the left.

Maybe actually read the second amendment, and the arguments made by both parties before you "take a little dig"

This is very similar to what the nazi and the soviets did. Removing people under pretext of law with no regard to process or people. It doesn't seem as extreme but the course is definitely clear.

To the troll that keeps regurgitating "illegal aliens" rhetoric. Dressing up with masks and shit doesn't grant one an authority to pick people of the streets. Any "leader" that enables this just wants chaos and doesn't give a fuck about the nation. It's just tyranny under the guise of patriotism. It happened many times before.

Isn't it the job of the opposition party at this point to propose legislation that outlaws this practice? To run candidates on a platform of reigning in these abuses? To run ads with scary music saying how the government is infringing on liberties etc?

Rural Republicans already fear three letter federal agencies: BLM, ATF, etc. Play to their fears, this very low hanging fruit, Democrats.

I can't wait for the trial about it gunning them down is self defense,

if it is a trump appointed judge, then it will clearly be considered illegal, which mean the whole point of 2nd amendment (defend against a tryranic government is BS)

or reasonable judge, which will determine it is self defence, then let the fun begin.
