Really hope this doesn't turn into a "black guy gets punished due to a false accusation of AI use, old white guy gets away with it after freely admitting it" type situation..

He's a strategy: get a copy of Microscope by Ben Robbins, and tell them you're going to use it to create the world/setting for your next campaign (this is something many people do). Once they've played, ask them to do a stars and wishes, see what they say (I would be extremely surprised if they don't love it).

Then point out that Microscope is a ttrpg, just a wildly different one to D&D, and that there are thousands of other games that do weird and interesting things with mechanics that most trad games can't even dream of doing (e.g. some examples: Everyone is John, Ten Candles, Fiasco, Wanderhome, We Are But Worms).

Viditya Voleti's A Land Once Magic is another good option that you can do this with, and it's a bit quicker and easier than Microscope.

Impeach, convict, imprison, and then start restructuring the voting system to prevent gerrymandering and then to dismantle the two party system. For a start.

I think I've seen this before, but I stumbled across it in a lemmy comment just now and figured I'd post it.

I think this indicates to me that there are really two meanings of the word "purpose" - one is design intent, the other is real-world function. Having that distinction is useful, e.g. it let you discuss how a design succeeded or failed..

I am a little shocked at the lack of solidarity I see between artists working in different mediums wrt genAI.

Musicians who would never use it to make music use it to make cover art

Graphic artists reach for it to make music over their videos

Writers use it to illustrate their articles

And, considering software development an art, many use it to create web sites or apps to host their art.

None of this is necessary. All of this is harmful to the other artists.

    Collaborate ffs.

    Stop it.

It would be cool if there was a community dedicated to helping people get better at making visual art, e.g. art education, learning, advice requests, feedback, etc.

Is there anything like this already? I had a search around and couldn't see anything much. There is !arttutorials@lemmy.world, but it's fairly dead, and doesn't cover lots of the things above.

If there isn't already something like that, would people be keen for it?
