If the midterms had gone badly, I doubt that there would have been another chance for democracy in the USA. Looking on from Europe, I'd just like to say thank you and well done to everyone who voted. This isn't the end of the struggle, but it's such an important victory.

Removing the president isn't the point, and it's something the GOP needs to do sooner or later (and today's results suggest sooner). Still, any opportunity to haul Trump over the coals should be taken IMO. Accountability is as much about the process as the result, and it's not just Trump who needs to be held accountable, but everyone he has appointed and everyone who is backing him. Trump himself is a good place to start, even recognizing that Trump is the symptom, not the disease.

The fact that the plane went down vertically seems to have really minimized the damage. There's one frame where the plane is just disappeared, flattened into that crater. The explosion happened from inside the crater and that would do a lot to protect the immediate surroundings.
