Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty, who announced the charges at a news conference, accused the pair of entering polling places during state primary election voting on Aug. 11 and identifying themselves using names of registered voters in those precincts without those voters’ knowledge or permission.

“Both men stopped short of signing the oath we all sign before receiving our ballot,” she said. “But Minnesota law states clearly that no individual shall intentionally misrepresent their identity in applying for a ballot.”

The pair of influencers disguised themselves and recorded themselves going undercover using hidden cameras at the polling places. They posted videos capturing their interactions on social media in August. O’Keefe said in a post on X that they dressed in “Muslim garb” — including, for one of them, a full-face veil known as a niqab — and their goal was to “expose the sheer lunacy of Minnesota’s ‘vouching’ system.”

and their goal was to “expose the sheer lunacy of Minnesota’s ‘vouching’ system.”

They're gonna claim they were trying to uncover fraud, as directed by Trump's bounty system.

So if this asshole gets prosecuted, does someone win a million bucks from Trump?

About as likely as the snitch getting the payout of the "bounty," on Luigi Mangione. Roughly halfway between a snowball's chance in the first plane of Hell, and the likelyhood that Orca learn to fly.

I'll even allow for an Orca piloted aircraft to fit the definition of the conditions of the second hyperbole.

"Why is the right so obsessed with voter fraud?"

    The right:

  • [–] 20 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Known fraud demonstrates why voter fraud basically never happens, hopefully rots in jail.

I dunno how onerous the usual punishment is for trying this - but any judge should see a pattern of abusive recidivism. He's not going to learn unless you hit him harder. Or maybe he'll never learn, and it's for everyone's benefit if his dumb ass is kept off the streets.

This is remarkably stupid. Someone could do a crime, so I'll record myself doing said crime Then post to social media and prove it is possible

I mean, someone could rob a bank, or steal a car. Should we record ourselves giving it a shot?

Even people posting their crimes on the Internet have better reasons than these two.

People don't refrain from crimes because it's not possible. If so, we wouldn't need a criminal justice system.

The more I think about it, the dumber it gets.

No plea. Max sentence. Make an example. MAGAts should be on board too, given how much they claim to hate voter fraud.

This guy has skated multiple times. He was accused of trying to wiretap a Senator's office. He claims that he only trying to get embarrassing footage of her.

This dickhead is the same that took down ACORN on false claims.

Classic Republican. The accusation is a confession.

I hope someone is keeping track. Lots of righties crying about voter fraud then committing it. We'll need a tally at some point. My absolute favorite is when they get caught, they always say "I did it to prove the lefties can do it" but they're the only ones who actually do it. Once again, every accusation is a confession.

Ahh, well, you see, yes, you see, the lefties do it but they don't get caught because they are smarte...no, yes, no, no, not because they are that but because they are more cunning.
Stupidly cunning, but in a not smart way.
They do it such a stupid way that us much smarter righties don't have the stupidity levels to go that low!! Yes, that's it. Yes.

i am unfamiliar with her story, did she vote? because they didn't, they basically identified themselves falsely. they didn't get a ballot, and they didn't cast a vote.

they probably would argue that they were testing the system.

still, they will face the state in court (if it went to that).

    Conservative activists: literally cancel ACORN

Also conservative activists: spend years and years whining about how "comedy is no longer allowed", conservatives are "cancelled" on social media, conservative free speech was "cancelled", etc.

They should get back to me when some destructive conservative activist group like the Heritage Foundation is actually cancelled.

But they didn't vote and they didn't steal an identity? Saying the wrong name is not stealing it and not voting is not considered voting.

This is performative at best, the prosecutor should be removed from office immediately.

It is interesting, if you do something bad yourself, it is extremely easy to project your own behavior onto your oppononent, you can also dismiss any lack of evidence that your opponent actually did the bad thing because they are better at hiding it.

Statistically, this million dollar payout would be the easiest to get for reporting republicans, but why anyone would believe that Trump would actually pay is beyond me.
