Thanks, I'll read up on it. I hadn't considered the geographic implications baked into the IP system before
Did anyone happen have read the study and reflect
Heavens, no. I came directly to the comments for the funny underpants jokes
I'm curious as to what issues IP and DNS caused that were so glaring. I assume better methods were (and are) available for addressing and routing, but that seems more a discussion about network architecture design than the kinds of societal problems that "big tech" is generally considered responsible for (if I am interpreting OP's question correctly, that is).
Devoured eggs, toast, and coffee for the glory of the empire!
Enjoyed both part 1 and part 2. Looking forward to the next installments!
If it's good enough for Magnus, it's good enough for me.
It might be a big deal for removing a flag, but for me it doesn’t matter.
Removing the flag is a symbolic victory for bigots. Even if the game still has queer representation, bigots still get to say, "We made you take down your flag to appease us" and that's a big win in their eyes. Like earlier this year when Philz Coffee planned to remove all employee decor LGBT flags from their locations, but then reversed course after backlash citing, "We had no idea that symbols of support and solidarity mattered so much to an oppressed community!" They knew. They just hoped they could withdraw their support symbolically before then withdrawing their support entirely.
I understand the sentiment. It's frustrating knowing that every word you write and every line of code you put on the internet is going to be used to train models.
This post reminded me of the spirited discussion regarding Mark Pilgrim's deletion of his website back in the day.
My favorite feature on my motherboard is a failover BIOS switch. So if something corrupts the BIOS, you just flip the switch and it switches to a second, factory default BIOS. Really made BIOS updates less stressful.
I wish League still worked on Linux. I haven't played regularly in years, but me and my old teammates would still fire it up and play once in a while.
Then a few years ago they changed to their kernel-level anti-cheat and it hasn't worked since.
