For a quarter of a million? Yeah, that’s an appropriate question difficulty.

But jesus christ I can see why the man died of preventable cancer.

He tried to prove alternative spiritual based medicine was legit by using himself as a case study, he didn't seek REAL help until it was far too late.

And that required him to get an organ transplant. Had he gotten treated earlier that wouldn't have been necessary. Someone else could've gotten the organ transplant instead.

He was able to get the transplant by being on every waiting list in the US. Most people can't do that because you have to be able get to the hospital within a certain time frame. But because Jobs had a private jet, he could be on all of the waiting lists.

I can respect that he was genuine in his irrational conviction.

I'm sorry, what? A diet rich in fruits leads to pancreatic cancer!?

When he got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, he treated it with eating fruits, and using his private jet to get fresh livers every once in a while, jumping the que so that patients that deserved those livers and would care for them properly didn't get them, and die instead.

    https://archive.naplesnews.com/news/southern-transplants-how-steve-jobs-got-the-liver-he-needed-in-memphis-ep-313463748-341555781.html/

Through a legal, little-known practice called multiple listing, Jobs doubled his odds by getting on waiting lists in California and Tennessee. Competition was too stiff back home in California, and Jobs, his wealth and fame notwithstanding, may have died waiting. But in mere weeks he jumped to the top of the list in Memphis, ahead of dozens of others.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Jobs#Health_problems

"Instead, he tried a vegan diet, acupuncture, herbal remedies, and other treatments he found online, and even consulted a psychic. He was also influenced by a doctor who ran a clinic that advised juice fasts, bowel cleansings and other unproven approaches, before finally having surgery in July 2004."

Jobs did not receive chemotherapy or radiation therapy

Fucking Visionary. This from a long line of bangers known as "yeah, I abandoned my daughter, then named a product after her" and "Fuck your files, I'll put them wherever I goddamn please, you don't know what you want, consumer"

His vision really was just seeing two successful things and then asking people who knew how to do shit if they could be combined somehow. Anyone could have done what Jobs did.

It was absolutely A, jobs was a fucking weirdo.

Probably why he died of a curable pancreatic cancer, the selfish fuck chose to treat cancer with fruit and not showering instead of proper medicine, then hopped in the front of a transplant line and got himself a fresh new liver before he died of his cancer. But, before he died he graced us with a quote we could see in the news today:

“In addition, during the past week, I have learned that my health-related issues are more complex than I originally thought.”

Him seeming like a "weirdo" makes more sense when you look at his background. He was influenced by the hippie culture of the 60s and 70s. He travelled to India when he was a young adult and he got into Buddhism. I think all of that stuff inspired him to try things which are unconventional in western countries.

As for what you mentioned about jumping to the front of a transplant queue, yes that's obviously selfish and wrong, if he did indeed do that.

He used his wealth to be able to get a liver from Tennessee despite being from California because his wealth let him sign up to every list since he could be anywhere at a moments notice. Any article you see will defend the move because He WaS tHe SiCkEsT pErSoN oN tHe LiSt, which completely papers over the fact that his wealth let his health status take a liver from someone more deserving who didn't piss away their chance at a healthy prognosis to self treat with fruit instead of listening to real medical professionals.

Bottom line in my mind is that he stole that liver from someone who could have actually used it.

I'm assuming it makes sense to him in a weird way to add bacteria to water.

A - Plausible food fungus reasons

B - Billionaires buy proper equipment, toilet brewing seems odd for a rich person

C - Very impractical way to wash pits

D - No reason to tell people and no benefit over just using regular water

Meh, the guy was a weirdo prick. It’s interesting to think what tech would’ve been like without him. I’m sure everything Apple commercialized would’ve existed anyway, perhaps on a different timeline and maybe even less locked down and profit-driven.

I think to a certain extent, it was boredom from getting drunk off money mixed with the 70s. Then again you have Bill Gates who's spent time with people whom which we do not speak of and hung out at certain islands.
