I suppose that's one interpretation. Another is what I've already said. Since you're supposedly under some sort of "attack" (something I must note I now find questionable considering the excessive paranoia you've demonstrated over this simple misunderstanding), I'd normally write this absurd argument off as just "someone having a bad day."

Seeing as how we've had this type of discussion before, however, I think your unwillingness to look at your own errors in judgment - such as your ridiculous accusation - in a fair manner speaks for itself. You haven't even apologized for lobbing such an explosive accusation, yet continue to attack me & try to pin blame on me.

Considering all this, I'm done wasting my time here. Goodbye.

You painted yourself. All I did was demonstrate how your overly vague comment could be misinterpreted. You're the one taking this to absurd levels & accusations. Seems like a pretty reasonable interpretation to consider it a bit over the top paranoia (and - in your wording - "painting {yourself} as unreliable").

I'm unaware of such, and would not participate in such. Your paranoia is drawing in innocent victims, apparently. I'm sorry you're going through that, but that doesn't justify you leaping to baseless accusations just because you remember my username.

I'll grant we've had disagreements before due to similar reactions on your part, but I always try to be respectful of others when they've done nothing wrong, and I try to treat each interaction as a new opportunity to communicate & understand one another. From previous interactions, I'd expect that to be an attitude you'd appreciate.

What's "rude" is being dismissive of constructive criticism offered in good faith. I did not attack your personally, but merely pointed out how easily your vague comment could be misinterpreted & suggested trying to avoid that in the future.

But, then I guess I should have known better - this being the Internet & all. Good day.

Thank you for this sweet story that gives those of us supporters who are cis a peek into what day-to-day life is like for a trans person. This is the kind of post I feel can contribute significantly to the general populace who doesn't "get it" being able to at least accept trans people as being just as human as they are. It looks a lot like just the differences one might find between cultures - the way things operate might be a bit different, but the basic humanity and values are the same.

An excellent post - thank you again!

Why limit this to phones? All devices we pay hard-earned money for should be fully owned and controlled by the purchaser. Consider the recent hubbub over someone taking control of their TV, for example.

Your comment was... vague, to say the least. It's the kind of comment someone who wants to say more things that they know most would disagree with would leave. It felt like bait by a troll.

As such, I'd suggest trying to make your intended meaning more clear going forward.

    Piped.

One of my (if not the) top go-to tracks to get me moving - nonsensical lyrics sung with Idol's iconic badass attitude, backed by Stevens' usual killer guitar work.

There seem to be numerous other edits, which piss me off because I love this original version that was on my LP & it's both jarring and annoying when something gets cut that I'm expecting to be there, totally ruining the mood I was going for in playing it to begin with.

The voice recently changed from the classic Google Assistant voice to one I presume is associated with the Gemini crap I've been doing my utmost to avoid. If I'm right, and this voice is associated with Gemini, then Google is doing themselves no favors with this switch because the voice sounds like a snotty bitch & I can't stand it. I've switched to another English-speaking voice (I alternate between UK & Australian), but - here in America, at least - the American voice is the only one that gives detailed instructions like what lane to be in.

Is there any way to change this crappy voice back? Preferably without changing the voice for every fracking device in my household, which is the only instruction I can find on Google?

    TIA.

EDIT: just so happened that someone asked for a "Revanced" version of Maps over on lemmy.ml (unfortunately, since I try to avoid tankies raising my BP). I know what Revanced is, but not sure what they were looking for.

Anyway, one commenter mentioned the project Vela Maps, which grabs the useful stuff from Google while minimizing your data exposure (unless you choose to use the live traffic updates, which can't avoid telling Google where you are - but that's it. I figure Google knows that anyway, and since most of my traveling is for work it just serves to polute their data on me anyway). It's got some minor issues, but a lot of good features as well - including extensive voice options. Yay!

Yes, it's real. No, I'm not trying to advertise him, but thought the first thing that came to my mind upon seeing it was too funny not to share. I'm apparently not the only one as this image was found on FB, according to DDG. The number apparently refers to his telephone area code, with the word supposed to translate to the rest of the digits via the dial (explainer for the non-Americans in the room).
