YTDL downloads from YT directly without loss of quality from needless conversion since YT already hosts the video and audio in separate files of varying formats and quality levels.

An android app exists on F-Droid using it.

Users already have the option to download in m4a(acc) format if they dont want the loss in quality.

    1. This is not free software, "Free software does not relate to monetary price"
    2. Feels like slop

    1. Says who? Any one can use it, right now, unlimited, that is free. I cant take more server costs to allow 4k video spammers thats unreasonable

    You miss the point.

You're posting in the wrong community. Free software is free and open source, not unpaid. It's a philosophy and structure, not a price point.

This community is about that kind of free, not free as in no price.

Edit: the sidebar of the community defines it. A screenshot, in case you don't know how to find the sidebar
