If you don't get your money within 30 days, settle in small claims court and let your CC/bank know.

Two things will happen:

  1. Samsung will be forced to respond legally, and apologize/cut you a check.

  2. Samsung does not respond, and the law will force them to cut you a check.

Big companies have a legal team that find it real easy to just pay people off & settle, especially when their lawyers cost thousands of dollars an hour compared to whatever you are owed.

A reminder that suicide is never the answer.

Especially if you're part of the military. There's bigger fish out there that put you in this situation. And that pain is temporary.

I use a few social media platforms at the same time. I'm used to seeing the same things on each platform. That's how the internet has been for years - you read the same things on the same five sites.

To be fully transparent, Lemmy isn't at the top. I don't post much and I lurk. Sometimes I post a comment here and there.

But this past week, I'm seeing more and more interesting content in the "Everything" section of Lemmy that I didn't see in my other social media feeds. New communities and more interesting convos.

Uncertain if the fediverse has gotten a wave of new posters, some algorithm has changed, or every other social media company is sucking more and more thanks to America Team Police...

Just wanted to share my extremely limited anecdotal non-fact checked viewpoint.

I work in a 4,000+ person company. Two years ago, the CEO created a dozen new positions underneath him. President. Chief of Marketing. Chief of Design. Chief of Product. Chief of Buildings. Etc.

Some of it was needed. Many were not. My boss, a director level person, would end up in a room with like 15 of these Chiefs-of-X, and hundreds of other directors. There was no heirarchy. You'd have a Chief of Product working with the Chief of Design and Chief of Marketing.

Many of them would just walk around, making demands to push their personal initiative, do 2-3 "update meetings" a day then go fuck around and collect their $500k salary

Late 2024, a lot of us found ourselves in "Office Space"-level BS where we'd have multiple bosses. I was reporting to two directors, and four Chiefs myself. Every week, I would get verbally chewed out by one, and praised by another - all different every time.

Last month, we got a memo that there was going to be some "restructuring" of departments. Then last week, half the Chiefs were quietly demoted to Dept Leads managing a small team, or fired. No other staff was fired except the C-levels.

I don't know what sparked it.

But I won't deny this seems like a path in the right direction.
