Did you have a hard time waking your digestive tract from its hibernation afterwards?

I did a 5 day fast once and it took me a week more before I could poop again. These days if I fast longer than a day, I eat one large raw carrot each morning, it's caloric value when raw is basically nothing because the body has to spend so much energy breaking it down, but the fibre in it keeps my digestive tract ticking over just enough so it doesn't hibernate.

I project past the first drink, past the 20th drink where I feel so sick I can't move without puking, two weeks into the future, where everything is once again unravelling in my life and I've abandoned every friendship because they are barriers to my drinking, 2 years into the future, where I'm either dead or wishing I was. I have been these places before, and I know it's a certainty that I'll be there again if I pick up. I ask myself if this is the future I want for myself.

Then I eat a big ol' bag of candy and watch a comfort show while I put off doing an inventory.

Assign heads yes, tails no. Flip a coin, catch it, cover it. Ask yourself if you're hoping to see heads or tails. Don't look at the coin flip result. Do what you were hoping for.

It's grim that it comes to that but vego meals can be way cheaper and also much easier to prepare. Prep equipment can just be rinsed off with water mostly, and veg is much more tolerant of being undercooked and overcooked so you can save heaps of time and effort compared to regular meat meals.

This is a southwestern carpet python. I saw two individuals on my hike, kilometres apart. I've been to this area dozens of times and never seen one, so today was my lucky day!

Normally I only ever see venomous snakes which I don't ever get close to if I can help it. Although a couple weekends ago I deadass stepped on a highly venomous dugite snake, but it didn't bite me. I just about shat my own heart out and it disappeared into the grass.

Both pythons were about 2m long, and were sunning on rocks when I came across them. They're fairly placid and not aggressive so I was able to get reasonably close to take a photo.

The other one was in a more wooded area near a creek. About the same size.

So when my website and server monitoring system started throwing alerts about excessive ping and failed uptime checks despite my servers being a mix of AWS, Hetzner, local and home , I went to investigate what was wrong with my servers, and found them to be running fine. Looking deeper I went to check on the undersea cable status and learned that all the backhauls connecting Perth to the outside world were either down or degraded.

So if you're experiencing high ping and slow loading times, there's yer problem
