This is a southwestern carpet python. I saw two individuals on my hike, kilometres apart. I've been to this area dozens of times and never seen one, so today was my lucky day!

Normally I only ever see venomous snakes which I don't ever get close to if I can help it. Although a couple weekends ago I deadass stepped on a highly venomous dugite snake, but it didn't bite me. I just about shat my own heart out and it disappeared into the grass.

Both pythons were about 2m long, and were sunning on rocks when I came across them. They're fairly placid and not aggressive so I was able to get reasonably close to take a photo.

The other one was in a more wooded area near a creek. About the same size.

So when my website and server monitoring system started throwing alerts about excessive ping and failed uptime checks despite my servers being a mix of AWS, Hetzner, local and home , I went to investigate what was wrong with my servers, and found them to be running fine. Looking deeper I went to check on the undersea cable status and learned that all the backhauls connecting Perth to the outside world were either down or degraded.

So if you're experiencing high ping and slow loading times, there's yer problem

You have 1000 kilograms of clean, fresh water in a single IBC container in Sydney at the Opera house. You will be paid 1 million dollars if you can deliver it to Los Angeles McArthur Park within 3 weeks, or 21 days, or 504 hours. You can split the water into as many containers as you want, and the IBC doesn't need to make it to LA, just the water inside. If you deliver 2000 bottles each containing 500ml of undiluted, clean, fresh water, or like, 99% of it to account for evaporation and some spillage, that counts as a win. You can assume that any partial water deliveries that remain in Sydney or arrive in LA won't be stolen in your absence so you don't need to hire guards. There are no consequences for failing, but if you do fail or succeed, any money you spend on the project, you don't get refunded. Normal consequences for breaking laws apply.

How do you do it, or do you even bother trying?
