Holy smokes! Have you tried enabling "Blizzard" mode in "Black" theme, in the settings? ❄✨

Looks like 4chan found this site. Now the question is whether they'll kick the fascists out or let it become a nazi bar.
The large amount of anonymity might make that difficult, it also makes it impossible to vett anyone you've previously had bad encounters with from joining your games. This could make harassment a real problem. I guess steam accounts or similar when joining the game session does something to help mitigate that, but time will tell on whether the good or bad or humanity wins out here.
I would be so happy with red alert 2 and 3.
I'm getting my dreamcast online in the next couple weeks! So exciting to be back on. Its been 20 years.
First thing I see when opening it is "BRO I RAPE KIDS (DISCORDALWAYSWINS)" what the fuck
Yeah... As someone who uses fightcade occasionally, moderation on these services when they're non-federated are a real problem.
Last time I checked, WoW WotLK channel had some racist remarks by creator. I cant find channel now so most likely it is gone by now.
I know I can Google it, but uhhhhh I’m lazy and wanna help drive Lemmy engagement:
Wasn’t there a multiplayer Resident Evil game wherein you could get bit and become a zombie? But like… it was ahead of its time kinda because you needed 4(?)+ PlayStations on a LAN to play it?
I remember it looked fun, and iirc reviews said it was fun, but they gave it low reviews ‘cause of the hardware hurdle.
Anyways… did anyone ever mod that into a playable, non-LAN experience one can enjoy from their PCs? If so… I’d totally put up a game date on here for that.
I might go search for my own answer and edit it into this if my phone doesn’t die.
Edit: looks like there is a fan-made pc port of it, but getting it setup looks like a bit of a project. hmmmmm
Was that Outbreak? I have one memory of playing that (or something similar to it) as a kid, where my character was stuck in a state where I needed another player to help them up. I remember the computer controlled companion just saying the "no" voice line every time I called for help, until I ran out of time and died.
so that's fun.
This is cool, maybe I can find a crew for Quake 3 instagib freeze tag with grapple hook enabled.
As an aside...If I wanted to host an event like this specifically for fediverse, where should one post it?
Let's say I pre-pack a portable archive (so Linux users can easily just add the exe to Faugus/Lutris whatever too) for Halo Custom Edition with a bunch of maps and throw a dedi server up for a week as an example.
So not the .world instance which lied about allowing piracy after announcing they would IIRC.
Damn, this looks good! This is a huge coincidence: just a few days ago, I was hoping that something like this existed when another thread reminded me of Unreal 2's long-dead multiplayer mode.
This is awesome. Love the UI.
A cool bonus with something like this is finding games you never knew about. I already found a few scrolling through the lobbies.
Only downside is with no sign up requirement you're gonna get a lot of racist basement troll comments, which I've already seen a few. But that's the trade off for not having a sign in requirement, which I prefer for something like this.
Neat, let's see if somebody wants to play Jump Ultimate Stars 🤣
Aww man, I was hoping to find a session of FFXI. Haven't played that in ages.
Pass. It's 4chan-/Xbox-Live-Generation Central. I do like the site design though. So thumbs up on that! It looks like the old Steam UI.]
Edit: I'm old I'll see myself to the glue-factory.
Unrelated but I like that GunZ The Duel is not only old enough to drink in the US, but that the private servers have outlived both the original game, it disappointing sequel, and countless AAA productions over the years. Whole genres have come and gone, with billions spent chasing whatever the new hotness is, while some privately-run upcycled office workstations have faithfully served thousands of hardcore gamers for decades.
Some games just don't die.
I still remember my rather embarrassing attempts at learning K-Style back in the day. I learned a tiny bit, enough to actually have an advantage against the pray-and-sprayers that didn't yet know about it, but I was absolutely trash against any experienced player.
Was a blast though, part of me is tempted to check it out again, but I imagine there's fewer noobs to practice against and it's mostly more skilled players now.
Oh, neat! Lemme check it ou-
Every time I die I drink a cup of tequila, and every 10 minutes I drink another
Well that seems irresponsible.
Checks to see if Tribes is listed
Yup. My work here is done.
Tribes never really died. It's too good. Pretty sure every single one has a way to continue playing them online; even Ascend and the extremely short-lived 3 as well as the PS2 exclusive one.
I'm sharing this on c/raidstream as it's extremely relevant there. Thank you so much!
Batty forgot the #1 event reminder of the net.
Why no Jabber is beyond me.
Just commenting so I can find this video when I get home from work.
Sounds interesting.
