Do we need to put stuff over text that presumably you want me to read

And here I thought all these democrats haven't even taken office yet? Of course they are to blame!
You guys still think the president has a button under the desk that inflates or pops the economy or that some secret cabal of investors has majority control of the market. The market downturn in tech is because the voters have resoundingly rejected data center construction. Of course they're going to politicize it but this is one of the few non-partisan issues to voters in the US.
The president has several buttons that pop the economy. Trump really loves pressing them.
Specifically, the executive exclusively has tools to pop the economy, with very little it can (directly) do to improve it.
Its almost like the economy is complicated and can't be explained by pointing at the actions of one person. The tools the president has for steering the economy are like trying to steer a fully loaded semi on a sheet of ice.
Its almost like the economy is complicated and can’t be explained by pointing at the actions of one person.
So you think that applying tariffs with no basis on reality, insulting all your countries allies and starting a war that choked 20% of the oil supply HAD NO BEARINGS in the economy? It all would have happened almost the same had the orange turd not done these things?
Man its like you guys are immune to understanding nuance.
Nuance is irrelevant when talking about overt, obvious, straightforward actions Trump has taken that has tanked the economy.
If you wanted to talk about a president making small, measured changes to finance legislation we can talk about nuance. If you want to talk about the potential economic impacts of moving away from fossil fuels or pressuring the Fed on some rate changes, we can talk about nuance. If you want to dive into the details of subtle tax policy changes over time we can talk about nuance.
He started a war unprovoked. He kidnapped a head of state of another sovereign nation unprovoked. He has started multiple trade wars. He has threatened and destroyed the economic relationships with most of America's closest historical allies. He had DOGE, which was an unprecedented, illegal, and unconstitutional gutting of government services, which didn't even cut government spending by as much as conservatives would want because a lot of the money was already spent, meaning he just made sure America got nothing in exchange for what they already paid for.
That isn't nuance. We are beyond the realms of nuance.
are you sure you are not not just projecting here?
Look I get it, in NORMAL conditions, you are correct... any regular president that engages in normal parameters (and that already includes the standard corruption baked into the system) you are correct. There is little they can do to move inflation, reduce prices, etc
However, how can you deny that the orange turd actions have no bearings in how the economy is reacting?
Explain it to me, how does declaring war on Iran and the very predictable closure of the Strait of Hormuz, has no bearings on the heighten price of oil and therefore oil derivatives
Im not trying to claim that Donald Trump hasnt hindered the world economy and enriched himself in the process, I am only claiming he has very limited control over immediate market conditions.
Yes, I understood what you were saying... but I disagree.
Can trump "fix" the world economy by pushing one button? no... can he make things way worse with one message on his garbage truth social? absolutely he can...
So how can you claim he does not have control over immediate market conditions?
He has spent the majority of the last two years trying to get the fed to lower interest rates and couldn't just do it because of a previously appointed fed chair. Yes he has a lot of power and he can do things that influence the market, and especially can do long term damage. However he can't just pick a day and say "this is the day I'm going to make the stock market crash to make my opponents look bad." The most he can do is a little pump and dumping in that regard because he has such a large mouthpiece and people still listen to the shit that comes out of him.
and couldn’t just do it because of a previously appointed fed chair
Ok this tells me you don't know how any of that works...
However he can’t just pick a day and say “this is the day I’m going to make the stock market crash to make my opponents look bad.”
No? what if he were to sign an executive order banning SpaceX from gov contracts (something he already did for Anthropic), do you think SpaceX stock would be unchanged?
Would definitley cause the stock to move in a predictable way yes. However it would not make or break it. Can you point to anything he has done in the last month to cause tech stocks to fall. Or is it far more reasonable to assume a market that was already experiencing a correction over the last month got fresh news of a different future than stockholders expected.
Would definitely cause the stock to move in a predictable way yes.
Exactly what you said the orange menace was utterly unable to do.
However it would not make or break it
What if he does that, and starts a war and insult allies, and fires a ton of gov employees?... I could go on but it seems you won't take anything as proof of how much BAD influence the orange pedophile has had
Can you point to anything he has done in the last month to cause tech stocks to fall
Why would he want tech stock to fall? he has been grifting off them so far... and what's next, are you going to frame it the question in such a narrow way so that it's literally impossible for me to answer?
And he has literally a bunch of rich guys hanging off his weiner day in and day out. He literally does have a cabal of weirdo rich people doing manipulative shit daily
He has mostly used these buttons for personal gain with some expertly timed trades preceding new tariff announcements and some great trades around Iran war announcements. To echo the collective ethos of one of the most corrupt countries in the world, “wouldn’t you do the same if you had that kind of power?” No, a lot of Americans would not use their power to profit off of the suffering of others.
I can only hope that this isn’t just the AI bubble bursting (who better to orchestrate a soft landing than democrats). I hope that this is the MAGA bubble bursting.
If you still think the president of the USA has no say in the markets you are just a fool
True, they cannot generate structural lasting change overnight but had the MAGAs held on to power, it would not matter at all that Data Center construction was rejected by the electorate, they would just ignore the people... hell, even with the Democrats, it is less than 50-50 chance they would actually listen to the people
