He was asking about the Pope, not Dylan.

I think they were explaining how a new Dylan is picked.

It's been a long time since we picked a new Dylan, people have forgotten how we do it.

Is this the one where everyone chooses a piece of paper, and the one with the black dot gets stoned to death? Wait, no, that's that other thing.

The pope has only been the Pope for like a year. Bob Dylan has been Bob Dylan this whole time. The headline should be "Latest Pope meets Bob Dylan. "

That's not Bob Dylan! That's Emperor Palpatine! Run, Mr Pope!

I know we're bullshitting here, but my inner pedant can't help himself: Jesus was born in Roman-era Galilee, at a time when most people spoke Greek and various forms of Aramaic. Jesus is the Anglo-fied rendering of the Latin spelling of the Greek version (Iesus) of the Hebrew name Yeshua (which could also be translated as Joshua or Hosea).

The Romans killed Jesus, blaming the Jews in the biblical text was a clear tactic to appeal better to Roman converts.

Jesus killed jesus (according to the author of Mark) when he didn't deny to being king of the jews to Pilate after trashing the temple. Thats what killed him. His own fucking hubris in believing he was a messiah sent by god. Thus: Elohi elohi! Why have you forsaken me?

he famously converted to Christianity, although he still practices many Jewish traditions in his personal life, there are Christian faiths that support Jewish people keeping their traditions alive, or practicing both faiths, he's never been Catholic, but he's on tour in Italy and considering the Pope's age and origins, he's likely a pretty big fan.
