It's just being replaced with the US-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative.

I think the bigger question is: Does he KNOW he's lying???

I think he literally doesn't care if what he says is true or false - he just opens his mouth and stuff comes out, with any relation between what he says and objective reality being a coincidence.

People who don't actually care about truthfullness are great liars because they feel no guilt about lying and have no tells at all when doing it that other people might subconscioulsy spot, since their bodies are reacting the same no matter what they're saying, true or false.

A lot of people in positions were lying is a common tool (such as politicians) have to train themselves to be able to lie without tells, but it comes naturally to Sociopaths, Psychopaths and Narcissists.

People like Elon lie to further their business. Elon doesn't think of it as a lie, he uses words to get what he wants. That's just good business. Notice that the bigger the business, the easier the lies.

Could it just be the love of money? An evil sickness? Is there a cure?

They say whatever furthers their personal objectives.

What they say being a lie or not is only for them relevant if lying now would later negativelly impact them (for example, because certain people won't trust them).

I think that what both Trump and Elon have figured out is that some people just think lies are normal and "everybody does it" so they don't really lose the trust of those because there wasn't any to begin with, true believers can be told whatever and they'll never stop believing and losing the trust of some of those of the rest who aren't super rich as them doesn't make much difference.

As far as I can tell that's pretty much the general rule for why and when people lie.

The difference between the likes of Elon and Trump and normal people is that normal people naturally feel guilt and disconfort when trying to deceive others and, unless they've trained themselves to stop that, that's reflected in their body language when they do so, thus other people might subconsciously detect it and feel that they're not to be trusted, whilst people like Trump and Elon can tell a lie looking you in the eye and look the same as if they were telling you that "the sky is blue".

So Trump was carrying on an Obama era policy for some reason:

...$38 billion ($3.8 billion per year). It will succeed the current $30 billion MOU signed in 2007, which will expire at the end of FY2018.

Good! Now point that huge pile of cash over to the Ukrainians so they can get Russia off their backs and finally join the western world without fear of reprisals. If not, give each American eleven bucks or so.

Trump is punishing Israel in the exact way that would've potentially helped them roll back the tide yesterday

He's full of shit and making a desperate last second plea to try and nab a handful of single topic voters, simple as that.

Same kind of thing why he suddenly lifted sanctions on Russia to claim he solved the gas prices.

Trump did not provide details and it was not immediately clear which funding he meant.

Ah, I'll file this next to those tariff checks he's going to send everyone...

Wish nonsense like this didn't fill our collective news feeds, because it's not even remotely valid nor verified.

"We've already agreed that by the end of this year we won't be paying Israel. Now we'll help Israel if they need it,"

This is the important bit ... if Israel asks for $13B it'll be ok, until they do they get $4B in both 2027 and 2028 before the deal expires in September 2028, assuming it will actually stop by then and was not a lie.

Lol, but also kind of sad that Biden/Harris wouldn't even do this level of last minute pandering when the polls were bad.
