The Democrat Troy Jackson has won Maine’s US Senate race, toppling five-term Republican incumbent Susan Collins in one of the biggest upsets of the 2026 midterms.

Jackson, 58, unseated Collins – who has been in the Senate since 1997 – in a closely fought, and often rancorous, race characterized by mutual accusations of corruption and clashes over living costs in the predominantly rural state.

The victory delivers Democrats one of their most coveted pickup opportunities this midterm cycle, and brings an end to Collins’ nearly three-decade tenure in Washington.

Very few senators infuriate me on the regular like Susan Collins does.

And now she's gone. But maybe not before someone picks up the investigation into her campaign finances again.

Congratulations to Mainers on your new Senator!

Hoo boy. Talarico destroys probably the most openly corrupt politician in Texas, Hinojosa rolls ol Hot Wheels out of Austin, Andrews becomes the first woman to be senator in South Carolina by beating a spineless ghoul's sister, and now Susan Collins is truly concerned as she gets unemployed by Troy Jackson. Just... chef's kiss

I was so scared that Collins would survive another wave like the cockroach she is.

Finally got her. Good fucking riddance.

Good. She should have retired, but she was greedy, and had more to steal, so now she has the pleasure of being whooped in embarrassing and humiliating fashion in front of the whole world.

Schumer and Jeffries are heart-broken at the loss of their dear neoliberal colleague. Hopefully they join her soon.
