Hoo boy. Talarico destroys probably the most openly corrupt politician in Texas, Hinojosa rolls ol Hot Wheels out of Austin, Andrews becomes the first woman to be senator in South Carolina by beating a spineless ghoul's sister, and now Susan Collins is truly concerned as she gets unemployed by Troy Jackson. Just... chef's kiss

Well, if you're the government responsible for the existence of modern-day Israel, makes sense that you'd want to whitewash that tomb. I mean, why do the right thing when that means admitting that you were wrong, amirite?

This is such a silly take. If humans ought to have better priorities than infinite growth, then the problem is whatever necessitates the premise of infinite growth. Infinite growth is not only unnecessary in being defined as human, but even detrimental to human existence. The problem you're blaming on humans is capitalism. Capitalism is the plague.

"Fallen World" does not give abrahamic religions license to consume infinitely. It has nothing to do with consumption, but rather to build the premises of why their religion is necessary for "salvation". Abrahamic religions have plenty of ridiculous and immoral things to critique about them, just be sure to pick a real one.

Well, I just reread my comment and realized it could be interpreted to mean I think MMT and economics in general is all bullshit, but I poorly worded it. I actually generally subscribe to MMT myself with some caveats here and there. I was more trying to get at how MMT is great at demonstrating how little economic value is measured by truly objective standards and the dollar only has value because we think it does. Many economists out there would seem to have you believe they have the same predictive power as the field of physics, but like... lol.

Yeah, agreed that economics is necessary as a field of study, and hard agree on Unlearning Economics being a great channel to have a healthy approach to economics in general. Sorry about my poor wording above, but it does appear we don't really have any disagreement here. Also, I could be wrong; we're getting into economics afterall.

Yeah, was gonna chime in with this as well. Even the caveats to this I considered bringing up were covered by someone else. Either way, it's wild to me how even dems are jumping onto the national debt rhetorical train as of late. Like, what's happening with the hyper-partisanization of the democratic party in America right now? Already weird to treat politics as a team sport, let alone being a fan of any team. Just another step removed from the not-quite-the-point of focus on policy.
