Mine was "Magic" by Olivia Newton John. Sounds like it set the mood just fine.

Don't count back 9 months btw, count 40 weeks.

I mean, we're just getting close. It's easier to ask people to count by month.

I mean, if we're narrowing it down to the week, I'm assuming the aim is to find out to which song your parents fucked you into existence. What was the vibe.

So the best bet is to count 40 weeks as that is more accurate than "9 months". That's all I'm saying. 😉👍

We're rounding to make counting backwards easy so more people can easily participate.

This can't be so difficult to do with weeks if you really want to be accurate. But if you don't want to be accurate, of course there's that option too. I'm only spreading awareness. 👍 I'm not trying to die on this hill or anything...

    It's about ease of use.

I can count on fingers how many months. Tales 10 seconds.

Count 40 weeks back from your birthday with no help in 10 seconds or less.

My guy, my tip is for people who want to be accurate. People like that usually have the means to figure out how to Google "date calculator".

I get what you're saying, but you and I have different target demographics I guess, and that's fine, but let's let that be the end of it, shall we? 😆 Like I said, this isn't such a big deal to be having this deep of a discussion about it.

Don't take my tip as a personal criticism against your character. It isn't one.

For the record, I figured out which week is 40 weeks ahead of my birthday in about 20 seconds using just my head. It doesn't have to be difficult.

That's a lot of words to say you failed the 10 second ask, and that you can't accept that this is a pointless shitpost.

Do your own 40 week and 9 month count, and I ask, are they the same song? Because mine is. That song was a #1 for 5 weeks. It covers both options, and that might well happen for most people.

    It's just a fun diversion.

You really chopping me up on 10 seconds versus 20? Yo.

Go ahead and die on this shitpost hill, bro. I'm dipping. 🙄 Pregnancy is 40 weeks is all I'm saying. Have a good one.

Then why do we say a pregnancy lasts 9 months?

    I'm really asking. You're right, it's closer to 10.

Whoa I didn't know the answer, I'm dead wrong. Months are 30 days so months average 4.3 weeks. So 40 weeks IS closer to 9 than 10 months. Mind blown.

Works both ways, too. 52 weeks - 40 weeks is 12 weeks. Which is about 3 months, plus 1 day since 52*7=364. So close, even without the rounding. I imagine that since the 9 months take up a greater proportion of the slight rounding, where 280 days is 9.333 30-day months, then the remaining 12 weeks would be slightly under, at 2.667 30-day months.

I think then we can also just reason that 9 months is a colloquialism that's close enough on average to have remained worth using. Especially when a date of conception often isn't really known. Babies don't have some turkey timer that pops up exactly at 40 weeks. Plenty of kids are born "early" or "late" based on a guess of a date most times.

Dunno about 9 months before but when I was born 'No Limit' by 2Unlimited was #1, and when my wife was born it was the Smurfs's cover of that song.

"The Happy Organ" (snicker) and "The Battle of New Orleans."

But I think for us non-firstborn kids, it's more about parents having a rare half-hour of privacy when they're not too tired to use it reproductively.

Specifically chose this to avoid phishing options.

#1 songs often spend weeks as #1. Mine spent 5 weeks up there. Call my bank and tell them my DOB is a range of 5-6 weeks and see how for you get. Especially since pregnancies are 40 weeks. I even know mine was 41. That's not 9 months. Lots of rounding here intentionally to protect people.
