Mine just want to help, and I've been told early on that most kids are like that. Let them help when they want to help, even if they're making your task harder, and they'll happily do it when they're actually capable.

I'm beginning to think the entire tax system was designed by a committee of people who were locked in a room with a calculator and told to make everything as unnecessarily complicated as humanly possible.

There's a good chance that they chose the simplest method where "simple" means the easiest to understand change set, not the easiest to understand overall system. People usually have an easier time understanding small changes.

  • IPF Rule changes (Jan 2026) (www.powerlifting.sport)

    cross-posted from: https://lemmy.ca/post/58096221

    Changes are highlighted in red.

Most notably, there seems to be three rule changes relating to technique:

    • Squat: Must use a full grip. Thumbless grip is no longer permitted. There's also a minimum height for bar position now.
    • Bench press: No sink-and-press
    • Deadlift: Clarifications on what it means to lock out with your shoulders back.
