Yeah, I bought the original Pi 1 (B, o think?) and every version up to a 4, and one zero. I now use them for things like driving my 3d printer, pi hole etc.

I gifted my son a Pi5, and soon regretted it, as I later found out that the fuckers were not using standard USB C power, but a proprietary version of USB C. Fuck their enshitified souls.

It's not even Kebap pizza, it's a traditional Turkish dish, called Lamakhun (spelling? ) that probably predates pizza. It's often called Turkish pizza, so that people unaware of the dish can understand the style.

They are not precursors but a family of flat, oven fired dough, with toppings. It's a whole culinary style in the Mediterranean basin.

It's essentially like saying that Texans get to decide what people put on a barbeque.

Also, pizza is just one of the miriad of Mediterranean "oven fired dough with stuff on top" recipes. Italians didn't invent pizza (they didn't invent pasta either, BTW), they've appropriated a shared tradition, and claimed it as their property.

Oh, for fucks sake! No, my friend, as part of the hospitality sector, your OBLIGATION is to make people enjoy their meal, stay, whatever. It's the ONLY REASON FOR THE EXISTENCE OF YOUR JOB. Also, I'm fucking tired of the whole chef worship. You are a fucking craftsman, not an artist. You are not a brain surgeon, a rocket scientist, Picasso. You just found a way to make pea foam taste like lobster or some other little TRICK.

I've owned a restaurant, BTW, and the first thing I drilled into my employees when they came on board was that their job was to make the customers day better.

If a customer, who pays your fucking salary, wants pickles on ice cream, you give them pickles.

Anchovies on pizza are fantastic, especially in some Italian thin crust, say with black olives, onions, capers, artichoke...

The problem is that people use them as an ingredient, where they should be used as a seasoning, sparingly.

I started with computers in the cassette tape/5,25 floppy diskette era. RAM was measured in K's, not Megas, not Gigas. A flight simulator (white pixels on green background, yeah) fit in a diskette, 360 KB.

Code was ultra efficient, as RAM was tiny.

With time, and as RAM got proportionally cheaper, code got sloppy, because, hey, we got space.

It's true that programs today are several orders of magnitude more capable, but it is also true that code now is hideously RAM inefficient and bloated.

I'm not saying that the RAMcopalypse isn't real, I run a Ryzen 9 with 64Gb in my desktop, bought before the bubble, but as the Microsoft backpedal to 8 Gigs for W11, and the 8 Gig Macbook show, software should be rethought.

AND RAM prices should go back to normal. That's the win-win

I've been playing with Gemma4, and in one instance it took me something like half an hour to have it acknowledge a statement I made, denying the contents of an official Google page I asked it to search and parse. It lied, and at some point suggested I was hallucinating! If you install it and try it, put it to the test, hard.

I have some money in Rocket Lab, and Planet Labs (I like space stocks). Yesterday, comparing both, I saw that they have very similar curves. I checked a space ETF (Vaneck), and it was markedly different.

What surprises me is that while both are space stocks, their core business is markedly different.

Am I seeing major manipulation here?

I have the nagging feeling that a major player is doing manipulation here. Elon, screwing competitors, maybe?

What distros do you install on your mom's, sister's, buddy's, etc machines?

My go-to has usually been Mint, but I wonder if there is a better set and forget, easily understood distro to install on the computers of those who will rely on you for support.

atomic distros would probably be a good option, but it seems that same disk dual boot is a no no, and that can be a deal breaker.

I'm thinlink QoL, for me, that is.

Most of the multi color printers out there are AMS/MMU or similar, and there are many DIY options, like Armored Turtle or ECF.

They are an evolutionary dead end. Slow, wasteful, expensive to run.

The Prusa XL, or the Snapmaker U1 are the future direction.

Also a good CoreXY machine like vorons/sovols/ratrigs/VZ, etc can be upgraded with the Bondtech INDX tool changer.

We are talking 5x lower print times, 5x lower material costs.

There is going to be a glut of used Bambus and other multi material unit printers, when print farms unload them, since the tool changers will massively boost their bottom line.
