I legitimately, calmly, and matter-of-factly said this once on the phone while spelling something, because the phrase "M as in 'Mancy'" was seared into my brain from years of reading reddit comments. And then I had to sound like an idiot being like "sorry no no I mean 'm' as in 'Mary' I'm sorry."
Yeah, the Nothing Phone looks cool as hell, but... that's basically all it has going for it lol. The AI features were also an ick move, just the fact they decided to go in that direction was enough to scare me away, since that was one of the things I'm looking to escape from with my current Google/Samsung phone (piss off, Bixby). I especially found it ironic given the Nothing Phone's whole minimalist design philosophy.
Oof. I was excited for this, but I think I'm just going to go with a Fairphone with /e/OS at that price point. I don't think I need the ultra high levels of privacy GrapheneOS has, I just want to get out of the invasive Google/Samsung ecosystem.
