Do you keep an up to date copy of all your games installers?

I have some games on GoG. But when I wanted to install games, I got their launcher installer. You need to go through some dark path to find the true installer. At least it was the case a couple years back.

Also a few month ago they putted an announce to hire someone to lead the Galaxy launcher. They explicitly asked for someone that would push the use of AI in their team.

I fear the moment they gain enough traction, the game won't be as easy to install DRM free. Their launcher will be the DRM, just like steam.

So yeah, they provide an escape hatch for now, but sadly other than that it looks to me they are more like Epic than Valve. I have not much trust for them.

(Maybe Humble Bundle stopping to provide DRM free download of the game + the steam key eaeliy on made me very skeptical of this?)

I'm french… she did not convinced me at all.

    1. You try to reduce the harm as much as you possibly can on the easiest way possible.
    2. Now that you have a, admittedly not great, gov that may hear a bit of what you said you can voice your disappointment to them.
    3. Voting for (or against) someone does not prevent you to organize and voice your discontent!
    4. So after the harm reduction go and try to steer the political debate where you want it to.

And yeah your bipartisan system in the USA is fucked up. I don't love our system here either.

Note: YOU are the one to choose which is the one who would cause the less harm. Or be the more willing to listen to you when confronting them.

On every embedded including a few IoT devices I worked on, every single time the IPv6 is either outright disabled, ignored, or treated like IPv4 even when telling my client what they want is not how IPv6 is designed.

May not be the same everywhere, just my anecdotal experience.

    Also remember:

The 'S' in IoT stands for security.

Which workarous? They just want JS access to the clipboard and it is rightfully blocked by Firefox.

The correct workaround is to not use JS to access the clipboard and suddenly everything work as intetended as if the browser already does the right thing.

Do nothing and it works, some call that magic 🌌

Well, I'm on Windows11 with Firefox at work, and can cobfirm that Ctrl v and Ctrl Shfi v both works as described in the post when I copy from old outlook and past into an Azure ticket.

The issue is, as explained in your link, because websites what a fucking access with JS to the clipboard. Firefox rightly protect us from the websites just looking to our copied password.

If the website just did nothing it would work by default. But they feel the needs to capture right click, and all Ctrl * shortcut to re-implement them in JS. A few years ago their webapp even broke next/previous buttons (that exist near the reload button and are binded on most mouse) all so they won't show they are loading the next page to the user.

TL;DR webdev are lazy, clumsy especially in large Corp.

Izzy allow non-open source apps. They say they will check, but how can they? Already with the source on hand it is not always easy to determine if the code is from am AI so on parts where sources are not available…

I'm ont so sure about that. I think the dominant religion hate the miorities in history. Catholics did war on Jews, Protestants, Jews again and now they cannot stand Islam.

I just think clerical and political elites are afraid "the other" are coming for them. In other words this is racism.

With the interferometers they can estimate the mass of the 2 objects entering in collision and the resulting one.

Since there are multiple interferometers, they can also point to the region of the sky it happens. The "alert" can be picked up by other observatories which can look there on all frequencies.

Depending on if there is an explosion or not they can confirm if the objects were neutron stars or black hole (the details are a bit fuzzy on my head for the black hole / neutron star merger).

I like achievements. I usually won't hunt for them but the little extra gratification is nice. On Nintendo games I'm not really missing them...

But on games I like and I "finished" (killed the final boss / beat the last level / ...), I most often can't get myself to play them anymore since I have no goal anymore. And this is at that point that I sometime choose to chase achievement to 100% a game (extending its lifetime).

I could also look online for what's hidden that I did not do... but the achievements are already tailored to my playthrough and may give hint "spoil free". Online guides both spoil the puzzles and the reward...

And in the mean time I read that there are frequent and apparently non trivial breakage on version.

Not trying to point finger since it is not easy, but thinking about the upgrade strategy of a project (or language) and help consumers of your project (and their plugin) get to the next version would help them on this issue. We have examples of languages doing this (or not). There may be more challenges for an embedded languages (than for Rust or Python) but I'm sure some concepts can still be applied anyway.

Are there migration path for projects embedding a LUA version? Or is LUA incompatible between version?

Like if I build a plugin for a project in LUA 5.1, and the project want to migrate to 5.5, are there forward incompatibilities? Are there API deprecated for long enough to let people migrate?

As an observer I don't understand why "once you choose a version for your project and a plugin ecosystem develop on it, you are married to this version".

I tried XMPP but could not find a client that let me have a "video call" where I could share my screen without also needing a webcam. Or even have a video call where not everyone is forced to have a video flux. As far as I can tell an audio call cannot be turned into a video call for 1 streamer.

Like in Discord where one want to share its screen while playing. XNPP was my biggest hope to replace Discord with my friend but I either did not find the correct client or the ecosystem is not mature enough (or oriented in the direction I expected).

Its funny. "Oh the earth is about to explode? Only show it crack in the USA". Makes me feel safe knowing how much it is fictionnal and in no way related to me.

The globe, someone is painting it fully blue except for mainland America (even Alaska is under waters). The title read "How aliens see earth in movies". All of this in a tweet with the caption: "Aliens: This? This is your leader?" from bluecranium the 2023-08-19
