I wouldn’t go looking for evil where it’s pretty clear a good intention is being made. I’m incredibly cynical and frustrated at the world and even I am not going to go digging for ill-intent like that.

It’s like trying to argue the slight variations of extremism between members of the KKK; more precision is not inherently bad, but you can also light the whole thing on fire without really worrying too much. Getting precise to this degree reads like someone needing call up age of consent laws to convince his friends that it’s ok that he’s dating a teenager.

Conservatism, and its offshoots, continues to have no fucking place in a civilized world. Chasing a dollar and building systems where the dollar has the power is also their whole fuckong schtick.

There’s nothing to reform. Conservatism and capitalism were both created as a way to allow rich, parasitic nobels to continue owning things they had no right to. The entire premise of the right-wing should be fully insane to pretty much everyone but the absolute worst of us.

I live in Québec. I’m anglophone but can speak French and do some things in French, so I also get Youtube ads in French and English. I saw an ad that show the same people speaking French and English, in places where it makes little sense for them to know French, and their accents are just…correct but it doesn’t line up?

Oh, not just arrest. I don’t know if it was Ai or not, but the 1y/o who was recently mudered by police was in the car with people falsely accused of shoplifting. The family was told by the courts that it was a “reasonable use of force”.

Wild that largely untrained cops can dole out the death penalty to a bystander for a crime that has little-to-no inherent urgency and would never carry a sentence even a fraction as severe.

Hmmm…but what if we instead just kept freely handing power to obviously evil people based solely on decades old propaganda?

That thinking is largely what got us here. Too many of us choosing the slightly better complete evil over actual progress because “at least it’s better than the US.”

The last government we had? Yea dude, the CAQ was bad in a way led to their total evaporation. The racism, the language police, the attempt to deny trials in any language but French, the removal of lease transfers, the inability to address any kind of real issue, the unnecessary and clumsy change to the immigration system that left a lot of people high and dry, etc.

CAQ was dogshit.
