I loved Sim City 4. I have countless hours in that game, and I still fire it up and binge it for a few months every other year. But the two games (Sims and Sim City) honestly don't have that much in common.
I was not aware. That really is wild.
If you're Gen Z, you don't want me to think you're cool. That will definitely mean you're not cool.
... like him or Sinema ...
So. Carolina Senator-elect Andrews is already hinting that she will do exactly that. I hope I'm misreading the situation.
Gtfo with that noise. Intentional smiling is encouraged by zen teachers worldwide.
Do you want an actual answer or echo chamber?
Actual answer:
The social issues are driving a wedge between voters. Believe it or not, the push for inclusivity in everything -- from diversity in casting (see Richard Dreyfuss's beef with the Academy) to transgender athletes in sports -- is, right or wrong, clashing with peoples values and norms. The GOP promises to end that. Also, this is a bigger decider than anybody is willing to admit.
The Urban vs Rural push and pull of policy. What works for city dwellers doesn't work for a country mouse. And policy tends to develop in an urban environment and then it is applied broadly. So you get things like proposed electric car mandates when the range isn't built for daily long distance travel or heavy loads or either in extreme weather, and environmental policy that totally knee caps family farms or the entire timber industry of a region to protect a cute little bird. The GOP claimed to want to keep gas prices low and remove barriers to industry caused by environmental policy (nevermind that the EPA came from their party and was spurred into action because our rivers were starting on fire).
Nationalism is a big piece of this. These Americans want security. And they claim to want a level playing field. You don't get to sneak into this country and use our social system. You don't get to speak another language or hang up another country's flag (great great great grandpa never did that when came over on the boat). They want someone that will enforce our immigration laws. They also want a strong military because America is the greatest military and the rest of the nations want what we have. Do you want the king of England coming over here to take what's yours? The GOP claims (despite all counter evidence proving that DJT hates the military personnel) to be pro military. Somehow, they're also opposed to military intervention in foreign nations (🤯).
"And we also need those guns to protect us. It's our right. It's what the founding fathers wanted. Should a school shooting happen? No. But nobody should take my guns." The GOP and Gun Advocacy Groups claim the Democrats want to take away all of their guns. This has been very effective to not only win elections for the GOP but also to sell more guns and ammo each election.
Don't forget good ol' American Christianity. The godless liberals want to kill all of the unborn babies. If you vote for a Democrat, you vote to kill a baby. You also vote to have your kids indoctrinated with homo theory in public schools with their drag queen story hours. God Bless America, and God Bless the GOP.
Another fun one is, "I'm not a billionaire now, but when I am, I wouldnt want to be treated unfairly and taxed..." Dude and Dudette have a better chance of being struck by lightning than becoming a billionaire, not matter how hard they work. That mentality is there, but they don't admit to it. But also the GOP frames it not as tax breaks for the rich. The GOP frames it as tax breaks for business/industry for job creation. The Democrats want to hold industry and business back by taxing it, according to the GOP voters.
And the good old American value of hard work. Nobody gets anything for free. If somebody gets a helping hand that doesn't come from the GOP voter's church and only at Christmas time, they're lazy, or they're a welfare queen. Because the GOP has proven time and time again that most "welfare" recipients are scamming scumbags who just don't want to work. The GOP will end that goldbricking. And if somebody gets for free something the GOP voter had to work/suffer for, that's unfair. Lobsters in a bucket mentality.
That's just touching the surface on some of the reasons that people vote for the GOP, as I see them from some other side of the political spectrum. If I take the time to think it through from their side, some of their issues seem valid, but I wholeheartedly oppose the cruelty they employ in their policies and enforcement.
The echo chamber answer:
Because they're evil/bad people who enjoy the suffering of others.
... to get the experience you want unless you’re doing it in an online game ...
Bingo. You do you, but don't be a selfish fuck and sully the collective experience. Wisdom for a good life, too.
The Sims is more fun with cheats, but these days I only play the Sims with the nsfw mods. I don't actually like playing The Sims as the devs intended, and never really have enjoyed it. Building a rad house was fun for an hour or two tho, and the money cheat made that possible without having to tell some foolish bot to piss in a toilet.
500 million dollars could have fed so many starving people. 😞
Edit: I used a donation calculator -- 500 million as a donation would feed a daily meal to more than 4.7 million children for a year. But I honestly think that calculator can't calculate the impact of that scale of a donation. Through proper money management, that donation would grow year over year and become many many more meals. What a bummer this world chooses to be.

This is how I know you're not Gen Z.

The ag and beef market?
🤷. But it's true. My ballot had three races on it: Governor, US Rep, and state rep. I flipped it over like 40 times to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
