Not allowing Miku Miku Beams is reasonable tbh. Firing one of those can level cities.

This must be out of date, there's no big back or turning Ohio or anything. Not even a "ACkShuLly it's GNU...."

My friend, sorry to break it to you. But you are the one out of date. Big back and turning Ohio are long gone. Those kids are already on the β€œI'm too cool to like my childhood things anymore” stage.

It says words, not phrases. So you're not allowed to use "I," "use," "by," "the," "way," or "and."

My entire school had a banned words list they put on a board near the main door.

I remember walking in past the board one morning only to get pulled back by a friend, he didn't say anything just stood pointing at the board....They added 'Milf' to the list of banned words.

The concept of "banned words" (other than the offensive stuff, of course) in a classroom is so funny to me. There is no way that the person who came up with that wasn't the sourest loser ever.

I always assumed (hoped) these were put up as jokes by the teachers. "Dang it Jeremy that's another one for the board!" type of banter.

It often is. Teachers understand those kids need to have something that they can call their own. Every generation does these things with language.

But I'm sure there are some teachers out there that foolishly try to squash the words.

Try teaching middle school. You’ll understand. That being said, teachers mostly do this as a joke.

I'm a school bus driver and we're supposed to not allow foul language. It's only a problem on the middle school runs, and it's not really worth the effort on my part to do anything about it. I'm just happy when I can unload all the kids and nothing has been set on fire.

Nah few teachers are actually serious about it. My cousin is a school teacher, she takes all these a little too seriously

I taught math for a couple of years in my local rural school. The fastest way to get kids to stop using certain annoying words or phrases was to start using them myself. It absolutely ruined the vibe they were going for. Particularity if you used them wrong.

Still, it seems kids need that type of 'creative' outlet.

Plus kids will find a way. Our english teacher didn't want us to say 'shit', but to use 'sugar' instead.

There was a lot of 'bullsugar' and similar in that class.

I remember that the vice principal of our Christian high school was annoyed with us saying 'gosh darn', and made the mistake of telling us, "If you're going to say 'gosh darn', you might as well say 'god damn', because that's what you really mean, and the Lort knows your heart."

... We all just started flat-out saying 'god damn' like we were told.

"N-words" plural? I can imagine edgy students going out of their way to avoid all words starting with that letter as a result of that rule, just to be difficult.

The sign itself lacks words starting with that letter other than the rule which bans it, and the separate quoting of one word that has one in it somewhere suggests they're allowed as long as they're unspecified on the list (otherwise that entry would have been omitted), so it's entirely possible to misinterpret.

On the other hand, avoiding all words starting with that letter seems like a fun idea, but will people even be able to tell? And it's surprisingly hard to express some concepts without it.

i see what you're up to here. you've created your whole post without words that start with that particular letter. i do disagree that it's hard to express yourself without it however; it's perfectly possible, i'd say simple, actually, to completely erase the letter from your vocabulary. i'm able to get by perfectly well without a sole use of it, all with perfect legibility. yes, i'd go as far as to say that it's probably close to the bottom of the list of letters when if ordered by value. get rid of it, i say. to optimize the alphabet is to get our speech closer to the speed of thought. after that, we can will start to chip at the big boys; your time has come, S!

    when

    can

Almost. You did well, but it's too hard for me, except maybe for short phrases like this, which, regardless, still requires effort well above my comfort. It's the sixth most used letter by some measures. Seek out the typesetters' placeholder phrase where the first "word" has it as last (sixth), place, before the successor "SHRDLU", which show the order of the most used letters of, uh, latter-day British? Oof. Edit: Modified to avoid a superfluous usage.

This hurts, so it's time for me to stop.

i don't know if you're being ironic but that does make me sad to hear. took me like 25 minutes and i still messed it up, but i had fun writing it all out and i hoped others would find it fun to. that my writing is apparently that soulless is disheartening.

fwiw i would never post llm output unmarked. i don't think people deserve that.

The only context I could give is that there are similar videos, for example one of a plane with crocodile features where the voice keeps saying (bombardillo crocodillo". It's just random = funny humor, I think

It's just fun with alliteration. It is not so random if you know Italian, they are basically alliterative puns. Sahur is Indonesian, there are version with several languages who have come up with it in the same spirit as the Italian original ones. Usually accompanied by shitty AI renders, because, well using gen ai images is en vogue.
