There's a whole big ole bucket list of things to take care of right now, remember we still have an infected pus sack of obstruction, corruption and mayhem in the WH.

I think right now it's about holding people accountable, stop the war and restore healthcare, and by god those alone won't be easy.

    Here's another thing that needs to be addressed:

    In 1789 each house representative represented roughly 5000 voters.

    Each senator represented roughly 14000 voters.

    In 2026 each house representative represents roughly 600,000 voters.

    Each senator represents roughly 2.5 million voters.

    I'm not sure that system was meant for scale.

    The geopolitical superpower of Iran is today preparing for a military intervention.

    Iran has this evening Australian time confirmed that it is readying it's military to stage an operation in the United States of America.

    The stunning decision comes as Iran claims America has destroyed the global economy, and is set to be run by an erratic maniac who has the codes to nuclear weapons.

    As a result of that (and despite not actually needing proof of any nuclear weapons or nuclear programs about to develop nuclear weapons), Iran has requested willing allies join it in its move to stabilised the region of North America.

    That follows a widespread uprising, which has seen a bluenami sweep across America, with the Democrats seizing both houses of congress - and win seemingly unwinnable races.

    Democrat James Talarico has defeated Republican Ken Paxton in the fight over the state's open US Senate seat.

    Abdul El-Sayed has stormed home in the state of Michigan, despite nearly half a billion dollars been spent by the Republicans to label El-Sayed a terrorist traitor.

    Texan Governor Greg Abbott has just been ousted by not only a democrat but a Latino woman.

    The widespread appetite for regime change in the increasingly fascist state of America, has now forced the hand of Iran.

    According to military experts, Iran are set to attempt a bold kidnapping of the President and charge him on drug trafficking matters.

    If that fails, they are set for a full blown military intervention to free up the oil fields of Texas, attempt to stabilise the global economy, and ensure the future of the world isn't in the hands of a egotistical psychopath.

    Typical English reply, trying to erase Scots culture and history. Scots are well known for having historical heroes, inventions, and a battle hardened army. Considering they always sent the Scots first. Your attitude reminds me of the Russians that can't accept Ukraine, as an actual country, you lot are the same about Scotland. We were an independent country for 1000s of years before this union 300 years ago.     It just struck me that people born after 2000 more or less have no concept of what a Friday night party without any phones whatsoever used to look like (lemmy.world)
     

    I was watching This Is England from 2006, and it reminded me of the olden days of yore, in the fabled before-times, where people would just bunch up together every Friday in someone's flat, get drunk, blast music, and talk without distractions.

    I can barely remember it now.

    Anyway, get off my synthetic lawn.
