Thats crazy. That aligns with my seven-day/week in-life mandate to avoid giving WB Games and Skydance money.

So they're just being transparent that "in office" is a cleaner way of laying people off.

They did the exact same thing when they swallowed up Paramount. In-office mandate to see if they could torment enough employees to quit, along with voluntary buyouts that were basically the severance amounts but occurring earlier, meaning it would reduce employment costs leading to severance payouts.

Ah, I see they're employing (not people, obviously) the DOGE/Russell Voughmit tactic of "make the workplace a living hell to commute to and work in so people feel like they have no choice but to quit."

Mandated in office is a climate crime. Send the leadership to do climate repair and seize their wealth. /Bangs judge gavel

Especially in a creative company like ours, the best ideas come from people in the same room, sharing perspectives, challenging one another and solving problems.

Strong disagree. That might be the best way to avoid the worst idea, but it's not the best way for creative people to have an original vision.

Swat down a bad idea and it either lives or dies on merit. Swat down an interesting creative vision, and it often becomes secret/internal/personal.

A creative company would know this already. But WB/Skydance is just Larry's franchise factory.

The part that everyone knows is being said between the lines with a return to office mandate is that they want their employees to quit so that they don't have to pay severance. With this voluntary buyout thing to go along with it, they're quite loudly saying that they want their employees to quit.
