I've been looking forward to news like this for a long time.

I'll continue to patiently wait for the day I can party with friends and family over a ridiculous game of Mario Kart World ft. Dante from the Devil May Cry series

It took four years of chemical decapping, optical dumping, and reading silicon circuitry under a microscope before an exploit turned up that finally let the chip's data be pulled out through software.

Holy shit, that sounds straight off a sci-fi novel

Mina the Hollower is a great fit for Lite that I’ve been enjoying lately (even if I suck at it). I also started playing Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance but quite early on there’s a place where the game stutters badly which is a stark reminder that I’ll have to get this Lite modchipped. A touch of overclock makes many games get good enough quite often.

SUPER5 screens are no longer sold unfortunately. The guy who made them lost a lot of money on a version of this mod with HDMI output on top of numerous complaints from customers who botched their installs and damaged either screen or their Lites. He seems to be quite successful in selling his Mister FPGA clones too.

Lite is a great companion handheld regardless of screen though! It might not have every indie game that Steam does but that Switch library is still very impressive.

If you guessed the gear icon, you're a power user and therefore must be arrested I mean, you are wrong.

Which reminds me, the Switch 2 has an useless C ("Chat"?) button if you don't play online, and that given being tied to a service, not a product, should age like milk.

As I wait for the download of game from the key card to finish (might as well test everything there is to see), I wanted to play another game, and I get pestered about another system update.

Do note: I have just updated the system because of the SD card situation. This is an unrelated update.

Usually you can get newer games to run on older firmware through some add ons or plugins or whatnot. You generally do not want to install newer firmware unless you are certain that the newer version is still fully hackable.

I had a PS4 Pro (sold now) that I was able to jailbreak at 9.00, but if I recall correctly, at the time it still wasn’t fully jailbroken.

I love the PS3 so much. So many memorable moments when I jailbroke it and had all those funny coldboot intros. I feel so spoiled growing up on consoles that could easily be jailbroken or modded. I have a PS5 now after ditching consoles after the PS3, and lemme tell you, there was so much enshitification that surprised me. You really can't do half the things you used to be able to do on older consoles. Did you know Sony won't even allow you to backup your game saves to a USB stick anymore? They even removed the web browser! I remember that being one of the cool little features the PS3 boasted back in the day.

I haven't used my PS5 for about 6 months now and it's just collecting dust. I disconnected it from the Internet and I am refusing to update it in hopes that one day I'll be able to jailbreak it. I wish consumers were allowed to simply do what they wanted with the device they paid for. At least meet us in the middle and maybe disable access to PSN if we decide to jailbreak it or something!

I didn’t realize the MechaCon chip handled so many security layers on the PS2 — it’s crazy how central it was to authentication and region locking. The fact that a factory service feature became the key to bypassing it is such an unexpected twist. Tools like MechaDump and MechaPwn really show how deep people went to understand the system. The technical breakdown made it easy to follow even if the topic is complex. The pink background in the video also makes it visually clean and easier to watch.
