It's just such a stupid fucking plan too. Like they're absolutely massive and fragile structures that are going to be ridiculously simple for individuals or groups to vandalize or destroy them. Even if they heavily fortify and gaurd the data centers themselves there are so many people opposed and so many, many attack vectors to nullify them that they'd have to boil the frog slowly to actually succeed with their dumbass plan.

It's crazy to think of all the possibilities. I won't have any less desire to do my job than I currently do, maybe even more because the other external parties we interact will also have their profit motives reduced or eliminated.

I'm fortunate I work in a career that's partially aligned with my passions and interests. It's also a privately owned company where the owner I work closest with makes decisions by asking the staff "will this make things better for our customers?" Followed by "will we make a little bit of profit?" which I interpret as can we keep the business running and make sure we can take care of our employees and colleagues? If we answer yes to those we're running the projects we pitch him. He cares about the right things, not making more money for himself.

  • I agree with your points and I'm also not American. Just prefacing to make clear I'm not arguing, just trying to spread hope. I saw a petition yesterday morning that was already at half a million signatures demanding Jeffries not be made speaker. The speed it grew indicates to me there's weight behind it. Kinda like posts, comments, and upvotes; there are way more lurkers who are agreeing silently. (I'm not an LLM, I just like semicolons. Even if I'm not always 100% sure I've used it correctly).

  • I think there's some regional variation and it's been a number of years since I've done it but for making jerky with wild game you just need to freeze it for a minimum amount of time to eliminate the risk from parasites. Not all animals are infected with ones that will impact people but definitely not worth taking the risk.

Just a thought I had in the middle of the night I wanted to share. The fact that trump and putin are so desperate to further their bullshit and the rest of the billionare garbage that they're trying to get us (everyone) to accept an oil deal between them is something huge for optimism. Would port workers accept Russian (or US for that matter) oil? That seems like any easy win for unions everywhere to support together. If I wasn't literally as far as possible from a coast I'd get out of bed now to stop more oil shipments that aren't needed.

What happens if fuel gets too expensive? More of us get to stay home and the companies and governments and excessive users will have to fund it.
