Awesome improvements. Fixed some odd behaviors, unmarshaling way faster, and implemented as a new package for backwards compat. Well documented migration. What more can you ask for?

Not only yes, but imo, hell yes. I think a lot of what is missing from the dialog these days is talk about fundamentals. And all though that is for a reason practically (as things get higher level, we think of low level things less often), it loses out on some really fascinating topics. For example, how processors actually do cache, endianness, instruction sets, algorithms, etc., are all just fascinating topics to think about.

So my vote is, more of that.

I immediately liked this to an extreme degree. And I think this kind of confirms it.

I’m not certain about that part. Maybe. You know you best, but I think that is a lot about how reinforcement circuitry works. It felt good to be seen sure, but does that mean you do a 180 at 38? Maybe. If so, good for you.

Entire reason? I don’t know about that. Definitely partly responsible, but I feel like I could list many more reasons from just the same time frame, not to mention many others stretching back to the reconstruction.

I’m seeking a song that I was reminded of by the music that plays being the toast to Danny Whizz-Bang near the end of Peaky Blinders s01e06 about the 44 min mark. If that song were sped up just slightly, it is very close to the song I seek.

It is probably something similar to Elliott Smith, Bright Eyes, Band of Horses, etc., but may not be. It may play in a montage in something like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Pitt. I vaguely get the feeling of birth and death at the same time.

The only lyrics that come to mind are probably completely wrong. Just one like. “The are gods in the ”. Or dogs. Dang it. I don’t know.

Rhythm is 1/2 rest, 1/8, 1/4 •, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/8^1/1^1/1. Music notation hard here. But that is down uuuupp doooown doooown down uuuuuuuppppp.

    Losing my mind here.

Following in the footsteps of Hashicorp, Hudson, etc. Zed has chosen to cash in the good will of its now substantial user base and start going to full corporate enshittification. Among other things like minimum age nonsense, they have also added binding mandatory opt-OUT arbitration.

I find such agreements very troubling, because it gives up public funded dispute resolution for private which nearly unanimously benefits larger entities, it lowers transparency to near zero, and eliminates the abilities to act as a class and to appeal. But I worry most will just accept it, as is the norm.

You can however opt out by emailing arbitration-opt-out@zed.dev with full legal name, the email address associated with your account, and a statement that you want to opt out.

I'll just consider my days of advocating for Zed as an interesting new editor over and go back to Neovim bliss.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, because it celebrates the harvest and can be treated as a day for gratitude. My family also calls it T. Hanks Giving and celebrates by eating pie and watching Tom Hanks movies.

I’m thankful for many things, this year my puppy. He has been great for my family and my mental health personally. For what are you thankful?
