I fucking knew it, of course the sell out is total.

If anybody has a bunch of LLM tokens to burn, and wants to use them for good, convert everything thats free and clear on the Unity Asset Store over to Godot.

They both use C#, we can worry about converting things to GDScript later.

    Right?

The entire rhetoric used around LEOs in the legal system is that they are "held to a higher standard", but the incredibly obvious conclusion from a modicum of research into how the legal system treats LEOs is that they are given a bunch of privelege and preference and deference, thus, are held to a much lower standard... when we also just know how often they abuse those things, we have the data lol.

    Its basically formal gaslighting?

Yeah this has never made any sense to me, its so obviously presented as the polar opposite of the actual reality.

And as I've been saying for at least a year now, the vast majority of shit ICE has been doing has been completely illegal.

    They're fabricating warrants.

Everyone who did that needs to never leave a prison; everyone who was convicted of some kind of resisting an unlawful ICE arrest needs to be pardoned, exonerated, compensated.

But yes, 100% agree with your idea as well. Stop pretending cops are better, or even as good as the average citizen.

Hold them to an actually higher standard, instead of a lower one.

    So apparently, in actual Japanese...

    Blue Tsunami

    青い津波 (kanji)

    あおいつなみ (hirigana)

    アオイツナミ (katakana)

    aoi tsunami (romaji)

    ...

Which would be prounounced aloud fairly close to "owie tsunami".

    Ah - oh - ee

I think something along the lines of an augmented powered exoskeleton, or passive ones...

    https://www.fieldtexcases.com/blog/medical-military-applications-exoskeleton-suits/

... could plausibly upscale into basically Power Armor... and you could maybe also upscale them into basically forklift with legs that you wear, from the loading bay in Alien...

I think those kinds of things are certainly within the realm of plausibility... presuming the power source can be made actually usefully weight efficient.

You can be a kind of up armored and up armed soldier, you can lift heavy shit, carry it a really long way, across broken terrain (that can support the weight).

Pair these with an active defense system, and they might actually be reasonable useful in certain military scenarios.

Its kinda like how just saying 'drones' is reductive... different sizes, scales, carrying capacities / payloads, ranges, speeds, methods of communication, propulsion systems, power sources .... create a huge spectrum of different types and niches.

We have humanoid robots that can do bipedal locomotion pretty fucking well, without a pilot.

    https://youtube.com/watch?v=vW3QoaPnDGA

Pair a similar kind of software with something closer to a suit, strapped around a human, all it has to do is translate human motions to the scale of the suit, do intelligent stabilizing, kinda like how modern aircraft controls are fly by wire, not pure analog.

Now... would these kinds of things be practical, in terms of production costs vs actual utility?

    No fucking clue lol.

How many voted-in politicians regularly commit war crimes?

Not many, but they have been known to tell other people to, on their behalf.

Partially agree to it, the ICC, not full ICJ jurisdiction for every member of the US government.

Everybody in DoD is subject to it, and then define a mechanism where if a DoD official is asked or ordered to do something that could make them liable to be sent to the Hague, theres a mechanism for instantaneous security declassification and emergency presentation to Congress, that also permits the order to be stayed untill voted on by both chambers as a legitimate or illegitimate order, also simultaneously voting on impeaching and removing the offending politician(s).

Thus, it ain't a politician directly voting to potentially fuck themselves, and it isn't a total ... relinquishing of US sovereign authority.

    Something like that.

Some kind of mechanism like this would also augment what the War Powers Act tries to do but does not actually do well at all. Starting a war of aggression is a war crime.

BLOUNTVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Thursday night Sullivan County Commission work session that was called to discuss the use of Flock cameras in Sullivan County turned heated after a county commissioner called for the public hanging of Flock Safety’s CEO, Garrett Langley.

What started as a civil discussion turned heated following those comments made by Commissioner Joe Carr.

“I believe that Flock right now is one of the most hated companies in America,” Carr stated during the meeting. “They are one of the most corrupt companies in America. And, quite frankly, sir, I don’t think we can make America great again without hanging your CEO publicly for treason.”

    Article continues here.

Your ticket to the cool zone is nonrefundable and nonrevokable, enjoy the ride!

I am kind of stunned that he said the above bolded quote, in person, to the face of a Flock representative.

    Cowabunga it is then.

60,000 evacuated due to Spokane Complex Fire; Mayor calls it region’s ‘worst natural disaster’

60,000 people have been evacuated due to the Spokane Complex Fire, which has destroyed hundreds of homes in what Mayor Lisa Brown calls the region’s worst natural disaster.

“We’re here today to discuss, really, the worst natural disaster our region has faced, the Spokane complex of fires,” Brown said.

“Hundreds of homes and structures have been lost,” Brown said. “We are still assessing the potential for lives to be lost.”

As of Sunday, the Spokane fires had burned more than 5,300 acres. Statewide, more than 250,000 acres have burned.

    ... article continues ...

As best I can tell... this is still ongoing, and is essentially 0% contained, however that may be somewhat stale info.

I think this is at least a fairly recent overlay with evacuation zones:

    --Apologies for shitty thumbnail--

Looks like some kind of review embargo has been released, ETA Prime's apparently been sitting on a review model Steam Machine for a month.

    Variant / Price:

    512 GB / $1049.00

    512 GB + Controller / $1,128.00

    2TB / $1349.00

    2 TB + Controller / $1,428.00

    EDIT 2:

This is all on the same day that we get news that... AMD figured out how to make FSR4 work on RDNA 3 / 7000 series GPUs, and, Steam is currently or just about to push a beta Proton update to Experimental, which will give this thing (as well as any PC w/ AMD 7000 series GPU) FSR4 support for basically any game that currently supports FSR3.

So... that's a lot of news.

China reportedly banned Nvidia's RTX 5090D V2, an export-friendly version of its top-end RTX 5090 GPU, while CEO Jensen Huang was visiting the country as part of President Donald Trump's state visit last week, the Financial Times reports. The report claims the chip has been added to a list of banned goods at Chinese customs. Huang was a late addition to Trump’s entourage last week, boarding Air Force One in Alaska after he was initially not included on the President’s guest list.

    ...

The Nvidia RTX 5090D V2 is a version of the company’s top-of-the-line gaming GPU designed to comply with U.S. export controls. This graphics card, which has less VRAM and lower bandwidth compared to the vanilla 5090, is designed for Chinese gamers and 3D artists. However, AI developers have also been taking advantage of this relatively powerful GPU, especially as they’ve been cut off from Nvidia’s more potent Blackwell-powered AI GPUs.

    ...

    Full article here, clicky linky.

So basically, China banned an Nvidia GPU that while yes is technically designed for 'gamers', is also widely used as a kind of budget alternative to the higher end Nvidia GPUs geared explicitly toward AI/LLM compute and training.

China did this while Huang was in the country, as part of the Trump visit delegation.

Huang is on the Council of Advisors on Science and Technology of the Trump administration.

    (source)

This arguably represents a significant setback for Nvidia, who would really like to have as much physical market presence in China as possible, and the Trump admin's 'AI policy goals', simultaneously.

It also could be taken to indicate that China is quite confident in its approach of producing largely open source LLM models via its own homegrown domestic industry of chips geared toward its own methods of LLM training and operation.

There's no one left to save Primm, Las Vegas' quirky desert cousin

If the definition of a ghost town is a large parcel of land, usually in the desert, that has gone from thriving population highs to desolate lows, leaving behind a crumbling array of old buildings, then Primm almost certainly counts. While not devoid of human life (not all ghost towns are empty, you know), the tiny Nevada stop-off has become a specter of its early-2000s self, when it thrived along the state line border with California. At one time a booming 500-plus-acre gaming and hospitality site with multiple resorts, casinos and a mall, Primm’s retail core is about to be essentially abandoned by all but a handful of fast-food restaurants — and one very defiant thrift store.

    ...

Now arguably this isn't directly related to the actual game, but it is arguably of interest to those of us still lovin' New Vegas in 2026.

There's more to the story than what I've excerpted here, clicky linky if you care.
